So that means ONE hivemind, AI, or Robot (singular) in case there is no hivemind, which Necrons do not have.
That means yes, ONE transformer, ONE Necron Unit.

- Big boom (birth of universe).
- C’tan creation (aka Star Gods).
- Old Ones formed (first spices, giving birth to many other races) also mastered the art of immortality.
- Necrontyr evolved on constantly ionized planet. Their lifespan was short and life was tough.
- Necrontyr eventually met up with Old Ones. But since Old Ones weren’t willing to share their secrets of immortality and end the pains (short lifespan of Necrontyr), war begun.
- War stalled, until C’tan offered their help to Necrontyr, by giving them immortality. Necrontyr agreed, but were tricked to shed their biological bodies, soul and mind. They were transformed into immortal robotic bodies, only keeping their will to build a great empire. With this, Necrontyr was no more and Necrons were “born”.
- War was won against Old Ones.
- Necrons rebelled against C’tan and captured them.
- After all that, Necrons were wary, and decided to go to hibernation, so that Necrons and galaxy itself can heal.
- 60 million years later, there is only War in galaxy. Someone stumbled onto Necrons tomb world and woke them up (similar as humas woke up Wraith in Stargate:Atlantis).
- Now awaken, Necrons are back to restoring their empire of old.
