FNIX Rising discussion

The source vehicle is yes, a common truck. The same common truck that was used to deliver initial machine components to the RÖ for the assembly. Though, it’s distinct design with added armor plating makes it look a lot more something of FNIX origin rather than resistance origin.

Also, resistance members like to hang up machine components as trophies/ ornaments (especially when looking the 2nd truck images i posted).

Though, we don’t know for sure the purpose and origin of the truck until DLC releases next week. :slightly_smiling_face:

im just stuck on the thought of the leftover survivors evolving their strategies at the same speed FNIX evolves. the “more fitting” resistance truck with them thin metal sheets attached to it would last long in a firefight against machines i guess. considering FNIX creating their armor to maybe even withstand their own weapons it would be a great upgrade for the survivors getting their trucks beefed up to resupply their own camps more easily.

something else im considering is calle being the genius behind that baby. but afaik his messages dont sound like him being together with many people. and its not a 1 or 2 man job to get that thing built up

Yes, honestly! Please don’t be offended, but an experimental melee weapon is down right stupid. Nothing beats Thor’s Hammer, it has been around for more than a thousand years and there is absolutely nothing experimental about that. End of discussion!

What if the Experimental Hammer does chain lightning damage? :cloud_with_lightning:

maybe the sledge hammer will even get a pracitcal use in destroying locked doors (even though there aren´t many locked wooden doors around…mhhh the only one thats not quest related i can think of is the locked house in saltholmen)? maybe by getting an extra perk tree or something like that? so you have the option to just unlock the doors silently with lockpicks or you go brute force. of course the louder noises would attract any nearby robots to investigate whats going on.

This truck has me worried. As in if we need a vehicle this beefed up, there must be a reason for it. Either harder enemies, more of the current enemies, or larger enemies.

Personally as far as the artillery cannon goes
I think that instead of controlling it we are going to have to destroy it
Somehow

But isn’t that what Thor’s Hammer does? Chain lightning? Give me Thor’s Hammer over any experimental melee weapon anyday and I’ll be perfectly content. I might even trade in my fully equipped 6-star PVG90

Yes, having a crowbar or hammer or whatnot would come in really handy when negotiating locked doors … especially the “unpickable” ones. I’ve encountered quite a few locked doors that I would like to break and enter.

I would like to see an upgraded hack ability with a laptop and you actually control the machine you hack or you should be able to hack lights etc to create diversions. Imagine using a tanks rockets!!!

Truck will be an escort mission.

arent those doors usually mission related doors?

I’ve done all missions long ago, and quite a few doors states “locked” when approached without the option to “pick lock”. I suspect they have been reserved for future missions.

maybe, yeah. i really dont think there are much doors that you cant open without the key unless they are related to some quest. but i dont remember the small readiness bunker thingy near saltholmen ip. was it possible to be pick locked or did you need the key for it?

Fingers crossed for the experimental IKEA allen key.

Exciting new, more things to do in Generation Zero.
I am little bit worried about the bug(s), current ones we have in the game. And now DLC coming with big update, hope it wont bring more bugs to the game.
I truly wish all goes well and devs have done their testing, so we avoid possible major issues.

I know, kind of pessimistic view. But mostly haven’t been able to play one of my favourite game.

Is it coming with a new trophy set?

Thats a valid point i agree maybe we will see a new skill tree? If so i have half a mil xp thats just sitting there bored to death

Look closely in the shot where the truck leaves the makeshift shack. It’s chained by parts of the machine and under it is beefed delivery truck. All these point towards resistance actually building this truck and using the APOC enemy parts for the build. The chain is just that makeshift touch to hold that armor together and the parts themselves aren’t as unified as FNIX’s base or final shot looked like.

That truck is definitely makeshift… The more concerning question about the truck is the massive tick shield on the roof of the car. Maybe it’s a knee plate of a larger machine, but the initially seeing it chilled me.

Now that we have an armored vehicle we also need “Chumbucket” for repairs and “the dog” to find the robots.
Yes, I also played Mad Max
