Frequent Crashes / Endless Crashing - Please Help!

So is it just pc user having crashes? I’m xbox and haven’t downloaded the update yet.

Engaged in some heavy fights, but no crashing. Whatever my problem was, I think it’s gone. Kind of wish I knew what caused it in the first place, though.

Will try when I get home and fingers cross no more crashes or at least less crashes

I wonder if anyone else on PC is experiencing the same exact behavior as me when it comes to crashes.

In my case, it only happens after having finished a fight, never ever on other occasions, and only on my own save.

Seeing my region scores and levels, I’m convinced it has to do with rivals.

Exactly the same thing here! On PC, same crashing as before this update. This game is now a complete waste of time and money.

So 6 fights in and no crashes and I’ve had a rival spawn so looks good so far.

I’m on xbox .

I still crash both after and during combat on PC, just now when fighting and trying to stack two big healthkits on the quickbar while in combat. Tried running without Afterburner and RTSS but no change in stability and noticing a hefty performace drop on my 1080+9900k combo, going as low as 40s using the ultra preset at 1440p and my usual playing temps of 68-73 rose too 78 quite fast.

I still do.

I just started a new game, played for a while, and before I reached Salthamn a Rival showed up on map, so I guess, that the crashes at the end of combat are save related (my old save files had 635h of play time).

42 encounters, 3 rival spawns and 80 minutes of unbroken gameplay, I’m pretty confident the xbox crashes are fixed.

Crap about the pc players must be frustrating for you.

On PC - Played about half an hour and got two crashes… One during a fight and the other on right after a fight… *meh *

So nothing changed for me in regard of the crashing issue

Edit: I guess I’m out for now, that’s no fun anymore

Seems like some players have better luck, one thing that I noticed when asking around on my friend list, the deeper in to the game, the more the game crashes.

So perhaps new player can play the game as intended whit only 1-20 crashes per gaming session, but when the first encounter big battles like the airstrip and so on the game gets completely unplayable.

After about 5h of play time on my fresh save GZ runs without any problems, but I reached only as far as Stenudden Lighthouse so there was not much action. 2 rivals roaming the Archipelago.

It appears to me as though they focus on very specific surface issues in the code like an incorrect item count, handling an item moving in or out of inventory, etc, when the errors seem to stem from a deep flaw in the memory management of the engine. Data Execution Prevention errors are a sign that the engine is running dirty. I have to think they know internally what’s causing this by now. I alone have sent in over 300 crash reports since early December. I really wish they’d clue us in on what the memory dumps are showing to be the problem so those of us so inclined can focus on relevant troubleshooting tactics instead of just shooting in the dark.

So yeah, I got my hopes up for nothing.

My game just crashed two times within 15 minute interval. Both times I was engaging a Tank. Guess I’m not playing any this month either.

I guess I had a lucky spell, over 3 hrs, countless encounters and no crashes

Edit: My tests below failed, so there’s that.

Do you tend to crash during combat, or after? Like I said previously, I only crash after combat, and after hearing the music that plays when the fight is over.

I’m 100% sure it has to do with some calculation the game does in connection to spawning rivals after combat - I don’t get any rivals in my game anymore with one important exception:

If I go down in combat on a map with high level/region score, a rival may very well spawn rather immediately the moment I go down, while I’m still IN combat.

This is important! I will experiment more with this, to see if this rather cheesy method of spawning rivals will have an impact on my game. I guess the easiest method of experimenting with this, is that if you crash, instantly go back and let yourself get killed, to see if a rival spawns then.

It seems it’s not the rivals per se, but something still related to them, when the game does its post combat calculations. This one can’t be that hard to fix for devs of this caliber imho, question is if they acknowledge the issue at all?

I did send them my save file, but I guess they’re swarmed with files to troubleshoot as it is already.
