Frequent Crashes / Endless Crashing - Please Help!

Yepp, same here. You know when the music is over it’s time for a crash.

It does it on PS4 as well. Kept force crashing when trying to travel to Nydala earlier.

I would be ok if the dev’s took a couple of days to fix the crashes even if it meant shutting down the game for that period.

No need to shut down the whole game for that as there’s no server infrastructure.

On a sidenote : I still have the opinion that the rival-not-spawn-crashing issue must somehow also be related to that holiday event because after that period of time the reports about crashes went up dramatically, iIrc and Avalanche must have been flooded with crash reports since then, I guess.
(e.g. for me it started on January 4th (only because I didn’t play between 22.12 and 04.01.))

I tried it again and again but to no avail, except I managed to (nearly) force-spawn one personal-rival (an APO Tank that managed to kill me) on Himfjäll, when I tried to provoke either a rival spawn or a crash. Mostly crashes btw…

So I stopped playing after yesterday evenings frustrating “desaster” of still crashing during/after fights, I simply can’t stand it anymore. It’s very much pointless to pretend running around and shredding some machines while in fact waiting for the next crash to happen. You don’t get the opportunity to loot machines, but ammo, medi packs, etc. are of course deducted.
I took that with one laughing and one crying eye while waiting for a fix with the january update, but sadly (and annoyingly) that did not happen! And there wasn’t even a word about that issue, too.

I like GZ, no question, but I decided to stop wasting my time on this for now because there are better ways to “waste” my time, than waiting for the next crash.

P.S.: and as I said before, I had nearly no crashes before the holiday season, maybe about once in a month… (playing since mid August and had about maybe a handful of crashes)

Sorry for being unclear. I’ll try do describe the issue. I don’t think that this is related to Rivals.

It’s basically unchanged from what I’ve experienced since August Update. When the update hit, enemies’ A.I got their awareness tweaked and some Machines like Tanks were given the ability to sprint.

The following happens 90% of the times a crash is about to occur; Engaging in combat with a Tank, causing them to go into charging mode. This time it was a Seeker that drew it over. The game crashed to desktop. I logged back in and found the Tank still in the area. The moment it saw me, the game crashed again. It’s also happened when I’ve disabled the weapons on a Tank, causing it to run all over the place.

I’ve actually been able to replicate this.

It’s also happened with other enemies, often Harvesters after combat has ended like you describe. But I’ve never had the issue with Hunters and Runners.

It’s weird. I very seldom crash in single player. It’s MP that gives me the most problems. If my friend is hosting I’ll crash or sometimes just get kicked and the same for my friend if I’m hosting but the game will continue to run for whoever is hosting. Occasionally it will hard crash and we are both out of the game and it will show the crash report but if one of us is just kicked out of the game it shows the host we left the game and the the client doesn’t get a crash report and I’m back on title screen. When I crash it takes me to the steam page and shows the crash report. Is this similar to what you guys experience?

PS4. First game session was fine, 1.5 hours without a crash. Second session - 1 hour ended with crash. Since then everything is back to where it was before the update: crash every 5 minutes.

No crashes yesterday 2 hr solo and 40 mins host multiplayer , Ahem well today is different day and 2 crashes solo 5 mins in fresh game at Overby airstrip 1 tank few dogs , reload game went to Ostervik town Frozen screen and crash … Arghh just as things were looking up , PS4 pro , Alpine , 1.15 .

Haven’t tried today but looking at the other posts I fear the worst

Played last night with my cousin who crashes all the time. I’ve only had one or two crashes in 100 hours. Last night I was dumped to the menu with “lost connection to the client” twice in an hour and my cousin is still crashing to desktop as frequently as he has been since changing his RAM, but not nearly as bad as it was before he changed his RAM. Seems a lot of the little bugs have been fixed but certainly not the big crashes.

Played a little MP with my son this morning and let him host. Every time he tried retrieving the klauke 17 from his plundra ,game would crash. Had him pull other stuff from hisbox and all was well. Anybody else experience this?

Retrieving the “Experimental Klaucke17” from plundra crash is marked in the new patchnotes as “[Community Report] fixed”
That might warrant a bugreport if it’s still present in your son game.
What tier klaucke is your sons?

Try solo play. It seems from reading the treads that the vast majority of crashing is not in MP. I play MP & have zero issue I switch to single player it is every few minutes. Anyway give it a go & let us know…Please.

I think it’s a 3 tier

Game crashes at approx. 99% right after killing a tank or a harvester. 1 time after killing a runner, this all started 2 Days ago. Been running smooth up to this Point.
I Think it has something to do with a microsoft update?

No, it doesn’t.

Yes. It’s a known bug feature - GZ crashes instead of creating a new rival.

No real solution, but I tend to move to another area for a while when crashes like these starts to happen. That, and join other players game while waiting for a real fix.

It’s by far most common after killing tanks/harvester, but can happen on any kill.

Same problem game crashes 1/4 battles any map, this is a recent thing though. I’m on xbox
