Frequent Crashes / Endless Crashing - Please Help!

Can you link to where this was said? In addition, the devs are already aware of this thread and the many people experiencing the crashes so that answer doesn’t make much sense

further testing done… it all makes no sense. Switched Steam to offline, then removed my Lan-cable, switched off any running programmes like logitech-driver, soundblaster connect, even diabled antivirus completely (using kaspersky here). the only thing that was really running was nvidia-drivers (actual version), nothin else. and guess what? crashes as usual, sometimes 5min of gameplay, sometimes 30sec, once I had about 2,5 HOURS! That was cool. But then - crash. Game is on a seperate ssd, win 7 64bit, 12gig ram, extremely stable system which no other game has ever crashed
What shall I say? PLEASE DEVS FIX THAT SOMEHOW!! Main Priority: Fixing crash errors! I really wanna play this game in multiplayer, could be so much fun, but not with that damn crashes happening…
tried all combinations of settings, disabling programmes, whatever…even overvolted cpu for testing…game crashes. So there is only one reason - ERRORS in CODE, nothin else. Its not the players machines!!! Hope U figure it out, really hoping…

is this the post you are referring to?

Yes I believe that was it.

It’s been a month since I sent the DXdiag report and crash dumps to support as they requested and haven’t heard a single word back since then, so I have no idea what else I can do other than obsess about a game I can’t play very well. I did have maybe two or three days where I had very few crashes. I thought I was onto something by keeping Rivals counts down and playing Borderless but the constant random crashes that ruin every fight and make it impossible to loot after using up all my ammo are back again. So strange. Got to be something in the Rival system/individual save files but then maybe it’s just a general memory handling error that springs up all over the place. I just don’t know what to do anymore. My game’s been ruined a whole bunch of times today and it’s really disheartening.

I guess I interpreted his response differently than you. Not seeing where he said it’s a small problem or related to individual hardware.
Hopefully it gets fixed for you soon

Well now that is bothering TBH. Since it is targeted in a PC forum I am going to assume for now that @Avalanche_Graham is only talking about PC & not console…at least that is my hope. Since the last update I now crash as stated above in single player that had NEVER happened prior to the update. Now that the PC players have apparently (Based on this & player interoperation of it ) had the issue addressed maybe this upcoming week will see console players being given some information as well.
Thanks,
SPP

Just found this & hope you are right I so love this game…

Graham literally said a “small portion of players”.

Which is funny, because I am sure @Flick’s reply meant percentage.

Ok, @Avalanche_Graham, show me the PC player who plays regularly and did NOT have a crash to desktop in December. I bet there is none.

I am not sure those kinds of public responses are helpful for anything.

EDIT: I myself am lucky as I am having only roughly one CtD per session.

Since mid december I also started random crashing. The only crashes I had before mid decemeber was the old fireworks and some odd plundra crashes. I used to be able to run 6+ hour sessions no problems at all.
Now I cant play more then 5-15 mins without crashing. DLC island or not, its a crashfest.

Ah ok cause I shot off a rival tanks guns and it charged at me once then my game froze so I thought it was bad luck at the time but now I see it matches what you have said @Zesiir

@Zesiir Gotta agree with you, the developers have been reaching milestones and with great results. It’s a newer game but like all masterpieces some projects are often unfinished. Without a doubt the developers are making changes and will continue to improve the overall structure of the game. Take into consideration there are many errors that need to be reworked and the Devs are doing their best to reach demands from priority to minority. I’m impressed with their progress and continue to support them best I can. Without us they have a game. We do our best to help them as they do us. You pat my back I pat yours. @SkEyE patience is virtue friend. If you met them and considered their courtesy you would realize they are actually quite passionate in their work.

Ok so looking at the crashdump I see the file kernelbase.dll is at fault. Kernelbase.dll executes .exe files. This file should be located in your windows/syswow64 folder if on a 64bit OS which i am. Thing is the location of the kernelbase.dll thats being used in the crashdump and has the issue is located in my windows/system32 folder…
Both versions of kernelbase.dll were created Dec 12 and that fits well with when my crashing started.

Why Windows32? That’s the operations of Windows Capabilities, perhaps your version of Windows is not compatible with the files or windows reads it as malware. If that is the case I would disable malware in regards to Generation Zero so the files may be processed. No different than running modded games on steam perhaps? That’s my best guess at least. I had a few games denied by windows malware security until I bypassed it.

Yes why windows32 is MY question… My windows is up to date on 1909, I dont have any fancy AV/malware programs running except windows own.
edit “The location of the file KernelBase.dll varies in different system type. If your Windows OS is 64-bit , the 64-bit KernelBase.dll is located in C:\Windows\System32 and the 32 bit KernelBase.dll is located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64” . Learned something new

If that is not the case I have a few theories. It might be a memory module issue. If that is the case take out all memory sticks except one and see if that corrects the issue.

If that isn’t it make sure third-party apps are inactive and that you have verified the game caches of your steam games. Oh and Check the display driver is up to date. Graphics could be out of date potentially causing it to crash.

If neither of those methods work it’s beyond me.

Tried playing with only 8 of 32Gb RAM and nothing changed. Crashed after a few minutes.

Gotcha have you verified game caches as well as closed third party apps?

No, actually. I meant 100 as in the cardinal number. There are a couple of folks on steam who go into threads about crashing and say there isn’t a crashing problem because they don’t personally have that issue. One has been claiming that the total number of people with the crashing issue was less than 100. I think it’s pretty obvious with the install base it has to be more than that, but since Graham was on and the topic was relevant, I thought I’d go for some official clarity.

yes i have ofcourse done the very first steps of troubleshooting issues…

edit I never use nvidia experience, I have managed to stream about 100 hours of noninterupted gameplay since the summer using scan converter to send my image to another computer without fails.

Last weeks I have tried different cpu OC, No cpu OC, different gpu OC, no gpu OC, afterburner+rtss on/off, windows gamemode on/off, using only 1 RAMstick, repairing with “sfc /scannow”, tried 2 different soundcards amongst other things…

Then you’re guess is as good as mine friend.

The game crashes across a variety of platforms and hardware /software configurations while the owner report other titles running stable. It is the game. Other factors may co-vary, but the game is at fault.

The best we can do is sending crash reports via the game’s tool. And the devs will figure out the various causes for crashes and deal with the most prevalent causes first.

Nothing we can do about it. And I would prefer not sending less experienced users onto a fruitless paper chase.
