Hello im still loving this game . So i know theres old posts on here bout gnome masks etc ive read and tried them but no luck so my question is is there any places other than the brand new island where we can find gnome ticks …I have been to that new island countless times and all im getting is ammo ammo ammo :(((( i would desperatly love a gnome mask just one PLEASE can someone please give me some insight thank you
PS could someone possibly help me get one or join a game where it meets all requirments to get a gnome …Im on xbox

As far as I know there is just this single spot.
There is a topic, where someone describes his experiences with the gnome there… under which circumstances you can expect to get special loot.
Idk, I guess it was at night, when some machines are nearby and if you use certain weapon categories (handguns?), but I’m not sure.
ok thx but how do you get enemies there or nearby… its in the middle of nowhere i dont think ive ever had any enemies around there runners ticks hunters man i hope i get a mask i have been trying so long
i heard night and frosty/snowy maybe kill the tick with any handgun
It’s so cool you’re looking for them! There’s a spot on the new island Aspholmen in the west, roughly due north of the security office safe house. You have to pass by some sheds, keep going north and there are two burnt out houses.
Go to the back of the red burnt out house and look at the back of the wood shed. There should be a gnome lying down, shoot it and it spawns into a gnome tick, shoot this tick and if gives you the option to loot it and a chance of getting a gnome mask. l’ve got six of the seven. The gnome resets itself after about 2hours then you can try again. Avalanche studio support is still available and they told me there are no conditions for it to spawn in like I previously thought.
Small odds though. It’s all down to the RNG gods unfortunately but completely worth it!! Good luck to you!

There usually are at least some apoc runners around.
ive tried prolly 20 times since the update and nothing just ammo and one tick pod i dunno if it has to be dark or light sunny or raining what gun or what or none of that matters ?? thats what i need help with plese its fun but getting frustrating and after 2hrs waiting i got 10 sniper ammo like big deal 
can someone help a bit more like does it matter what time of day weather guns etc ?? what am i doing wrong
i just reread that so doesnt not matter if i go in the day or night rain or snow ? doesnt matter what gun i use…cause i heard from lots that it has to be at night also frost wintery handgun apoc enemies around so now im confused …can it be cleared up please
Unfortunately, there’s no specific pattern or set of conditions for the Gnome Tick to spawn the masks , I’ve had that confirmed by the studio too. I’ve been farming them consistently for over a year (coming up to 2054 hours) with the same Gnome Tick and have managed to collect six out of the seven masks, though many have been duplicates.
There’s also no way to reliably increase your chances, but joining multiplayer maps and hunting the Gnome Tick on other players’ maps can help speed things up. Otherwise, you’re stuck waiting the usual two hours for it to respawn. It’s a grind, entirely RNG-based, but the unique look makes it worth the effort in the end. If I could drop you a mask I would but you can’t with apparel.

kinda a dumb question i suppose lol but how do we calculate 2 hrs have passed in the game its not like 2 actual hours playing the game right ? so for example like 6 to 8 pm right now … its in game correcct so how do we calculate like …i have 20 min left ill head back to that gnome spot then wonder around …
Yes, it’s 2 hours real time before the Gnome respawns. The day/night cycle in Generation Zero runs on a 4-hour real-time loop: 2 hours of daytime and 2 hours of night. I’ve tested it a few times, and it’s consistent.
Also worth noting: fast traveling doesn’t affect the time of day. I tried jumping across the map right at sunset, and the lighting was exactly the same after the load. Time progression is real-time only, no shortcuts.

Cool. Please keep sharing these sights on the forum too, it would be great to find that you found something, I did not, but besides that it helps keeping to forum alive a bit longer, and gives people a chance to check or re-check out these nice points of interest.

Gysbert!! What an absolute joy to receive a message from you! You’ve genuinely made my day. I’ve been lurking and reading your posts on this forum for a good long time now, and your insights have brought me a great deal of enjoyment and inspiration.
Like many others have said, that map you created changed the way I experience GZ. This game means a lot to me, I came to it first during lockdown and it’s not just a great game, but something that’s helped me build lasting friendships through multiplayer. Your map, with all its incredible detail, became something very special and important to me.
I actually run a museum for a living and have a strong personal interest in historical maps. I once printed your map out on multiple A3 sheets, stitched them together, and had it up on my wall for a long while! These days, I mainly use it on my mobile phone, but I never stop appreciating the amount of effort and artistry you’ve poured into it. It truly is a work of art, and you should be incredibly proud of it.
So…thank you. It’s an honor to finally get to interact with a real Generation Zero hero!
As for me, I’ve decided to start posting here on the forum. This game is something I want to help keep alive, and I’d love to do anything I can to promote it and bring in new players. I’ve been active quite a bit over on the GZ subreddit, so if you’re curious, feel free to check out some of my posts there ( Perfect-Museum is my profile name there) maybe one or two are worth sharing here too, I’m not sure though they’re good enough but would still appreciate your opinion.
The game’s depth, its secrets, and all the little details scattered across Östertörn absolutely fascinate me. I’m especially interested in the lore, and I’m currently putting together a post about something I’ve noticed involving the Palmboken books you see scattered around, especially in the churches. There’s a specific page that appears on the organs in all nine churches and even on the organ in the hidden tenth church, the Iron Church. I think there’s some interesting lore tied to it, but perhaps I’m looking too deeply into it 
and I’ll be sure to share those thoughts here soon.
This forum is still new to me and I’m still figuring it all out but I’ll do my best to post in the right section and I hope you get a chance to read it once it’s up.

I am also deeply interested in the lore. And I think they make great discussion items. I curious thought if you found all six gnome masks on Aspholmen or did you found some on Ostertorn. I got all 7 in the Hagaboda area, I too had lots of duplicates, especially nearing the completion of the 7 mask collection.
I will try and see if I can find some of your posts on Reddit. I love to read GZ stuff from fellow explorers.

Great to hear you’re into the lore too! I kinda figured you would be! There’s just so much packed into this game, and I totally agree, it makes for some fantastic discussion, which I absolutely love diving into.
As for the Gnome Masks, I actually found all six of mine on Aspholmen using the same Gnome Tick trick (say that fast three times!). Like you, I got loads of duplicates, RNG really likes to mess with you when you’re down to the last one. I’m still hunting for the Golden Mask. I only started analysing the game obsessively after the Showdown update, so I unfortunately missed the chaotic Hagaboda period when the masks were spawning more frequently. Other players have shown me screenshots and told me how much easier it was to farm them back then, I’ve tried to recreate those conditions dozens of times recently, but to no avail

And yes, that Firebird screenshot was a lot of fun to pull off. Took me ages to figure out how to duplicate them, but I eventually cracked it using the Death From Above mission as the catalyst!
Quick question for you too…am I dreaming, or are you updating your amazing map? I ask because I recently revisited Storskogen to check out what I remember being labeled as “Dinosaur Bone ??”, and now find listed as “Bone-like log.” Just curious if that was a recent change!

I just got my first gnome mask greeen whoooooooooooo yaaaaaaaaayy you can prolly hear me cheering all the way in Canada here lol i actually jumped up and started yelling and cheering
