Map of the GZ world with labelling

Think I might have said it before, but anyway, thank you so much for the effort you’ve put into this map @Gysbert, it’s is awesome!

@OGDH Thank you. It’s always nice to hear if the work is appreciated. I loved doing it though.
These boulders were added with the showdown update, that fact alone made me wonder about them a bit more. :coffee:

Hey buddy, I had downloaded your map a while back. I got an update of it not long ago. I just wanted you to know that I’m still loving that map! The time you took to make it and so detailed, very much appreciated!

I’m playing with my nephew and daughter and the map helps me plan each step!

Great job buddy!

Thanks @Vynym, It’s always nice to hear if someone likes the map. I am just finishing up Far Cry 6, and then I will be back roaming the Östertörn landscape again, until a new game adventure comes along.

I’ll give you some more well-earned flowers, the map is, as always, key to the experience and is the best anyone could hope to have.

I’m not hijacking this thread and I won’t mention this again, but as far as the Far Cry series I’ve only ever played the first three and wasn’t especially impressed. Never got the later games because of that. For the best experience which one should I start with? I’m thinking it’s like Fallout where the better experience starts with Fallout 3.

Thanks @Tinkicker. About Far Cry, I just like those type of games. :sunny:

It is seriously the best map anyone has made of GZ

Ok yeah they look like great games, I just didn’t know where to start with them for the best time. Thanks.

I missed some, too.
I’m quite sure (of the total of 14 far cry games) that I just played Far Cry 1, 2, 3, 4 and I’m currently playing 6.

But in the end they all were totally worth being played.
The experience was almost the same for all: Ubisoft-formula. Newer games of course had more features, the stories were all cool and crazy to some extent.
I would just play them in the order they’ve been released.

The map is great and the greatest one that exists.
There is just one thing I’d like to be improved: interactivity with different filters.

But that’s nothing I would expect from Gysbert.
The work, he has done, already is priceless.

No sure what you wanted filtered (loot, easter-eggs, etc), but it’s also a bit late in the life-span of GZ to make extended efforts for more map luxury.

Of course, you’re right.
That’s what I wanted to say.

Thanks @GlitchBane .

Placing my answer here to keep the topics a bit on topic.

Yes, I am still updating things when I think a change is needed. I was thinking if such a big strangely curved bone could be really from dinosaurs. I actually did some research looking at big bones. So when I could not find any I decided it was more likely a strangely curved log, and changed the label. I found three of those logs up to now. They all were a recent addition. As for why they were added, I don’t know.

I also did some corrections of the topographical lines when I notice differences when I look for something and compare my map with the game map. :coffee:

Ahhh, I thought you’ve been updating this map over time, it’s incredibly useful, and I really appreciate the time and effort you put into it. It makes such a big difference for everyone using it!

Getting it right really matters, especially in a game like this where navigation and details can make or break the experience. Your attention to things like rechecking labels and correcting topographical lines shows how much you care, and it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed. I’ve just read all of this thread and it’s a fascinating process!

Thanks again for all the work you put into the map. It’s appreciated more than you know!

Now I really, really want to spot something new so it gets on your map!!!:eyes:

Map updated with some goodies, and fixed a missing Safehouse icon.

I’m running into people from time to time who are just now getting into GZ, so it’s very much appreciated that you’re still updating the map.

BIRDHOUSES!!! It feels like Christmas has come early! Many thanks @Gysbert for keeping this map up to date. I can’t wait to get home and examine it in detail! :grinning::grinning::grinning:

Remember that the bird icon only gives a proximity to the location of the birdhouses. So far there are 10.
Let me know if you find new ones.

I’ll keep a lookout and be sure to let you know if I discover any additional birdhouses. The search continues!
