@tene good video. IMO hp5 looks better lol. But you’ve done a fine job in pro and con. Keep it up on those vids!
Two extra thoughts:
- The mechanical noise from the Kpist is the action cycling, and actually has nothing to do with feeding the ammo. Most of the noise is from the bolt slamming open again after each round. Most open-bolt SMG’s have similar issues with noise (MP40 and M1921 being good examples). Ironically though, the Kpist had none of the reliability issues that many earlier open-bolt designs had.
- The Kpist should also be a bit louder period because the cartridges it was designed to use are higher pressure than the standard 9x19mm Parabellum rounds the MP5 uses, so you have more noise from the detonation itself (more energy in the shockwave) and a higher muzzle velocity (translates to a louder sonic boom).
As far as in-game use, I prefer the HP5 given that I use it as a CQC weapon on a sniper build (I’ve got a 5-crown suppressor on it too), I care more about the low noise and per-shot damage than the full-auto accuracy (and, IRL, nobody uses a SMG or combat rifle full auto except to lay down cover fire, it’s always burst fire or single shots).
Very interesting. Just a question: how do you mesure the accuracy, do you shoot a whole clip at the target and then you count manually the impacts? What about multiple superposed impacts, can you distinguish them as well?
Thanks. I’ll be waiting for the assault rifles video.
My guess is that he goes through a whole clip, then goes back through the video frame-by-frame to count individual impacts. It’s honestly the only way to deal with the possibility of superimposed impacts as well as the fact that bullet decals disappear pretty quickly in GZ.
He’s done a representation of the games weapons MOA. Since most bullet hole textures don’t stay after so many. Each mag dump shows a variant of the grouping to get a better understanding on what to expect. That’s what I get from it
@WarpigX9 thanks dude! i’m trying to make sure i can list at least one pro for every weapon if not more to keep things as unbiased as possible (it can be hard when you really like a weapon though )
@ahferroin7 my dude! coming through with some keen insight, i wasn’t sure if it was the firing mechanism or the ammo feed and made a poor guess between the two! thank you for clearing that up. and in all honesty i think the HP5 is way more efficient at cqc than the Kpist! i only do the full auto to really put the game through the motions
@Bazyl yes what i do is fire a full clip and slow the video down to 1/8th of the speed and then go through shot by shot and score em. the game can handle 20 bullet holes then starts auto fading the earliest hole, and on top of that bullet holes only last for about half a minute or so. surprisingly i can follow tracers with some weapons all the way to the target through frames while others disappear after muzzle flash.
And assault rifles will be next! maybe a week or two depending on how farming and my other videos go 5.56 ammo is my current bottle neck, rng is not being friendly lol!
(*sorry for the late reply too folks, been trying to do stuff from my local coffee shop as my internet’s been out, and safe to say its been difficult )
Make sure you’re not carrying anything that uses 7.62 and you should have a much easier time finding the 5.56 ammo. Back when I switched to the AG 5 for a short while, I dropped the AG 4 I had and started finding almost exclusively 5.56 ammo, even on stuff like the military hunters. The game itself seems to, in-general, pay attention to what guns you actually have and preferentially give you ammo for those.
I have both the 4 and 5 and I find ammo for both. The amount depends on where on the map I am.
Very true… I’ve been doing my usual thing of just getting 400 or so every time the timer resets up north but I’m sure if i grab my 5 from my vanguard i’d see much bigger gains! I think I’ll need 2k ammo at least for a proper test
Other thing is i’m working on a big video on how we could see more “Polismyndigheten” activity in cities, to maybe help expand on some of the set pieces they introduced on the first island. So I’m spending a lot of time outside of my usual farming routes that @Terrorrobot is saying!
That sounds awesome dude! Can’t wait to see it!
I’m on ps4 my dude! if you are please feel free to add me my psn is tenebrisinfinite , if not i am hoping to expand to pc someday soon but buying a new house has put the gaming pc on the back burner for a little bit
I’m on PS4 too. Jason4Christ is my psn. I can let you use my Ag4/5 5 crowns to do your next video. And I wish you good fortune on the soon to own home.
Luckily i do have all the weapons so far in game at five star but the offer is greatly appreciated!! I was pretty lucky to get them all way back in April and sweet! i’ll add you while i do some morning recordings tomorrow!
As a sidearm I carry a 5* silenced Klaucke 17 as a last ditch weapon, for when both main weapons are empty and I don’t have time to reload. It’s also the only silenced weapon I carry, and I find it particularly useful for sneaking up on, and taking out Seekers quickly and quietly. The .44 Magnus never felt right to me.
I haven’t used an SMG at all, except for a dilapidated Kpist early in the game. I always stuck to an assault rifle and a shotgun. Maybe I’ll have to give the SMG’s a try some time.
Looking forward to your videos on shotguns and assault rifles!
Haha no love on the forums for the magnus, that’s fair it is the fan favorite for a reason
I’m going with the .44 Magnus for my current build and I gotta say I’m surprised by this thing’s accuracy and damage. With the June patch it basically went from being a novelty, to a mini-sniper rifle, the .44 FMJ rounds (that often drop in stacks of 40-70!) are fantastic against medium sized enemies.
Ah yes finally someone agrees! The magnus is a power house against hunters, and when you can double your ammo use off them you can’t really go wrong also it takes components/weapons off tanks much faster than the klaucke can, so if you hunt tanks a lot (as everyone should since the june update) it’s far superior in comparison. IMO only of course
I used to run a 5 crown magnum with my 5 crown hp5 and the launcher. Worked well as my short distance 100-300m sniper. And my hp5 destroyed anything close and worked well with ticks.
But since I’m rolling with automatic rifles now I switched to Glock since I stopped using the magnum much and it was a bit sluggish on ticks. But I do like the revolver even though it’s pretty hunky and slow for a weapon that’s not in real life.
I hope they add a red dot to the magnum and a laser for hip fire
I’ve actually been using one on a character I started recently as a poor-man’s sniper rifle. I’ve not found it particularly useful for anything else, but it is nice how readily available the ammo is once you actually start carrying one.
