I'm making a weapon tier list

Here’s the latest installment of my weapon tier list video’s, in this one i take a in depth look at the assault rifles in generation zero. Took a while to finish because in order to get this all done right i did multiple sets of certain tests (damage drop off especially being a huge time sink)
But in the end i think i was able to pull some great bits of info out.

To summarize some things a little bit more clearly on here;
the AI-76 could be a great DMR if it got at least a 1x4 scope, AG4 though including a larger scope zoom does little for its damage drop off so it isn’t as reliable as a DMR, AG5 excels at pretty much everything, but can potentially do less raw DPS in comparison to the AI’s burst fire. Only potentially though because if you can target components effectively the AG5 is the best assault rifle for DPS, though that requires things to entirely go your way in a fight which doesn’t always happen in GZ. :stuck_out_tongue:

There is just no way in God’s Sweet Earth that the AG5, firing 5.56 @ 55 grains weight per bullet does more damage to a machine than the 7.62 @ 120 grains weight (more than twice as heavy) at the same velocity (which it is)! Nor is there the same fall-off of damage over distance, due to the massive increase in momentum of the 7.62!!! 7.62 is used in medium machine guns and at tracer burnout of 1,200 metres it would still go through you and nine of your friends.

Oh, that’s another thing - the use of the videos would be greatly enhanced if you could provide some practical examples. Which bullet (FMJ or AP) is better for what? Will the AG4 take down a Hunter in one magazine? Will the A!-76 knock off the weapon pod off a Tank in one magazine? Will the AG4 do it in one… Etc… For that section, you might have each weapon take down a Hunter in real time so we can see. They are wonderful videos and well worth the effort, but I want to know how many times I have to hit the rocket pod before it goes down, and with what weapon and what round. 'kay? :smiley:

Hunters? I don’t understand! An FNIX Hunter, with both salvage points bought and working, gives me 10-12 rounds of birdshot and a medikit. I despair.

Hey @Bootie! Very good to note, but based on the video game side putting it as the kinda “final” weapon when it came to damage and stuff you just can’t deny it in game. hopefully if the devs do change things we’ll be told how specifically! it’s hard finding out some of these details :sweat_smile: I don’t claim to know much about guns myself but if something is inaccurate to real life i’d rather see things become more realistic for the weapons :smiley:

And i wish i could go into that sort of detail in one video! But that would equal a crazy run time and i don’t know how long it would take to script/film that sort of thing but it would probably be ungodly lol I do plan on covering some of those topics individually though!

Actually, if we’re assuming heavy armor, I can easily see it doing more damage once it punches through. The thing is, it’s a whole lot more likely to ricochet internally because it’s lighter and smaller (see for example .22 LR, which will actually ricochet internally in a human chest cavity). That internal ricocheting is going to cause a lot more damage per round than the 7.62 just punching all the way through or embedding itself in the far armor plating. Now, against a soft target like a human, it just has too much energy to do this, but the robots have some ungodly strong armor plating, so it’s well within reason.

Hmmm, I think it’d just bounce off - not enough energy in it. It would tumble exactly where it had soft tissue - that was the entire theory. It wouldn’t go through a tree, as the Americans found in Vietnam, whereas even the AK47 7.62 would - and much more punch in the FN round.

If I wanted to smash something metal, I’d pick up a 7.62, and so would you! A .303 round (which is virtually the same size, weight and velocity) would eventually destroy a Tiger Tank. Took an awful lot of rounds, but it smashed anything it touched and the tank would grind to a halt.

Oh thanks for another great video. AG5 is the best? I will take it back from my secondary character and use it.

I’d highly suggest it @Bazyl ! The AG5’s been wrecking robots for me since making this video, and I’m even planning on starting out a fresh character with one to kinda “speed up” the early level grind when making a support based build :smiley:

I’ve looked - I’ve only got a 3* Ag5 - anyone know where there’s a 4* or a 5* knocking about?

Look specifically in tanks, the harvesters won’t drop em as they have a seperate loot table now it seems for weapon drops. Some good spots for farming tanks are Stenmyra, the air field, Osterviks industrial area, and just outside of muskuddens safe house to name a few. :slight_smile:

I might see if I can find a good fire position on that tank outside. It’s a beast, that bugger.

Harvesters drop rubbish - the last one I could find nothing in it I needed. Literally, I walked away in disgust. Yeah, tanks…

you are in the blocked up safehouse by the gun club. how is that possible

It actually has one open door on the porch facing the locked up car shed! Very useful safehouse so definitely stop by and give it another look over when you can @Mewster1 :smiley:

The gunclub safehouse isn’t completely blocked, one of the entrances can be opened like any normal door.

Sod Muskudden! The whole lot repawn outside. 45 minutes battle, twelve hunters, ten Dogs and a Tank, all FNIX. Rotten defensive position, since not only are you tripping over the railway tracks every single time you want to move, but they can get in behind you through the tunnel to the right. Ended up with half the medkits and half the ammunition I started with. Tank dropped nothing except less 7.62 than I used to take them down and the Hunters gave nothing except 400-odd rounds of .44 hollow point. Why would anyone need 400 rounds of pistol ammo? I must have a bug (and two ammo salvage perks for shame)! And that changes the dynamic of what to look for and where to look for it. Perhaps it’ll change with the new update.

Come on guys - I need a respawning FNIX tank on its own with a good fire position. Ideas?
