Inventory Sorting

Continuation of:
Feedback request - Sorting items in the inventory
as still relevant.

The major issue with item sorting is it’s clunkyness due to it being an afterthought - it shouldn’t be an extra window in the UI, but the dropdown menus being implemented into it!

It should also remember it’s state and not reset during a session - i get why it might be difficult to save the preference in the save file, but at least in memory should be possible!

Also i think a “Traps & Lures” category could help, tho they should be on dedicated buttons to cycle between them, instead having to put them into the weapon wheel / “quick action menu” anyway. (“T” for Traps (incl. EMP), “G” for Trowables (Grenades, Molotows, Flares, …) and “H” for Lures (like Radio, those Siren thingys from the Spotter drones, but also the Toycar))

Edit: and i agree with most posters before me - we definitively need being able to sort weapons by type, not just by ammo (as neat that is, good job including it! (^.^)-d

Take into consideration that all changes should work with a controller to keep the game alike on all platforms.

Check out Factorio if you want to know how to make a (much more complex) game enjoyable with a controller!
(hint: you don’t try to mash both together into the same UI, you create 2 UI’s that complement the chosen input! - if done right, the visual difference remains minimal)

All I really want to know is what attachment is being used by a weapon stored in the Plundra. It does not have to specify the exact weapon it is attached to, only that the attachment is being used.

At least that.
But on the other hand, if you want to use a full vision module or a Red dot scope on a new weapon… And you will probably have more than just one of each, I would like to know on which weapon it is attached to.

That could be hard to show with just a small icon, so what if attached modules just become invisible in the inventory list?
Additionally we should become able to open the weapons attachment options from inside the plundra, too.

By that you would just see the unattached items and if you want to use one that is already attached to a weapon then you could select the weapons you want to unattach it from, open its options, detache it and then go to the weapon where you want to attach it.

It would be another step, but the list of items in total would become much shorter and easier to scroll through and the system would become much more safe.
