Keep current machines, more machines types, or classes?

I am too, sir.
Hence the cat idea.
Here are one or two other ideas, with a picture even I think: New enemy types - Remade

Enjoy, sir.

As I saw it, sir: it would be a machine that’s weak: low armour, low damage.
It’s speed and agility would by far make up for it.
Add for instance it can shoot on the move…
It would be a true mean machine.
Try to hit a fast machine, that’s additionally agile… would be very hard sir.
So, a well-placed shot… it could kill the Cat instantly…

Brilliant that would be so cool

Why thank you, sir.
Mind, this one is a wee too futuristic, I know.
A more… prehistoric version (in comparison) might pull the trick here.

  • At first glance the cat idea sounded ridiculous, but that is because it is ridiculous, now THAT is a Jaguar/Puma style ,a Big Cat, that is not ridiculous, a transformer like Enemy, with a mounted Railgun sniping you from the Forest, sounds cool.
  • A Humanoid enemy (with no Human skin) smaller than a Hunter that follows you indoor sounds very interesting, my opinion is that it fits the game, anyone that finished the game story can understand it does.
  • I know the Reaper is coming, but i still think we need something…more scary, maybe a Big Spider Machine with the double size of a Harvester, serving as an AA and Artillery mobile Machine guarded instead by squads of runners with a Tank always present.
  • For last, either a Ground or Air Carrier Machine Type that replenishes enemy numbers (Hunters and runners) when enough sirens From seekers are heard.

Well that’s me, sir… wacko… XD

It surely can be done, sir.
I fully agree.
But then it will need to be “barebone”.
Not with skin and whatnot as suggested above, sir.
But… that’s me…

Simple base ideas from New Machine Types topic, sir.

Nice idea, love it!!!

@Xogroroth @Zesiir This is all very interesting, but how are people going to vote when they have so many comments?
Maybe all the conversation should be moved to a clone topic or for the already existent machines remade?
Sort it out between yourselves (Topic creator and moderator)

I’d say that’s up to @Xogroroth how he wants this topic handled. As I see it, you vote and then discuss it.
Not sure if there’s an issue, but I’m sure he’ll poke me or @Aesyle if something comes up. Or, use the flag system.

Missing 2 or 4 extra legs :grinning:
Did you made it?
Not the most cute model (looks like a Star Wars Separatist Model) but the AA and Artillery capabilities and the rest are very practical :+1:
Captures well the idea!

I am at work and sketched it up in less than 5 min lol.

I forgot to add, the top part can spin in half and target two players simultaneously.

Not bad for 5 minutes!
Don´t let anyone there see it, protect your intellectual property

Correct, great idea, sir!

I often derail my own topics, I fear…
But you know this, good sir…
Often derailment can bring great things forth…

I SO want THIS…
Tank Spider…

But not this… futuristic… I guess…

That is from Generation Zero 2089, the machine Uprising of the Future, not in Sweden but in the Entire World.
You do know how to derail

Why thank you, sir!
Most kind of you.

It is still GZ though, so I figured… :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT:
Wolf Robot
And not even too far out of style, I think?

We’ve had the apocalypse machine class and now the reaper class tank. I hope next we get a new machine. It would be cool to get one that digs underground, although that could be very buggy.

Agreed, good sir.
As for Burrowers, it can be done, and “fairly easy”: As the Burrowers comes up, he would be in a no-clip state.
Once he has fully emerged, the no-clip state would turn off.
The whole would make it that the machine actually crawled out of the ground.
I put this very simplistic, but when done well (with earth being 'shuffeled" around, sound, maybe a wee vibration) it can look and ‘feel’ quite realistic.

“Downside” (I do not think it is a downside, myself) is that during the machine comes up, it is invulnerable, due to no-clip state.

Thoughts?

I’m kinda for remixes and a new type, we still have to close the gap between hunter and runner, something to chase us out of buildings, also it seems weird how the machines managed to get all these structures set up with no real ‘workhorse’ type machine. I can’t imagine ticks or runners transporting all those resources and manufacturing server cores. Something human-sized with something resembling motor skills would drastically speed up the building and harvesting process, also capturing and transporting prisoners, we all know there’s not enough corpses to account for the whole population ;-). Then, there’s the question where those air reinforcements the harveys call from. I’d be very interested in a flying heavy machine, this would completely mix up gameplay.
