Mysterious artillery? [IN-GAME ODDITY]

well it seems like it fired from a different direction somehow

I was thinking of the Stenudden lighthouse on the southernmost point of the Archipelago.
Wonder if that would be too far away to observe both the muzzle flash and the shell hitting MƄsskƤr?
Even if blurry maybe it could give you a hint about the angle of the shotā€¦
Maybe Iā€™ll give it a try tonight.

i was just there and it seems like a good position but its blurry AF, you would probs see the shell as a red bulb but if we can trace the sound source it could be a solution if we canā€™t see it

Did you see anything?
Came to think maybe itā€™s too far away to trigger the event.

i saw the bulb but i think thats the important part so yes we should use the lighthouses at the end after the fort and Stenudden

multiplayer is a solution  so i guess we could do that when u come back

Put a field radio at the lighthouse and teleport upon hearing the sound

seems like i could see it but the direction is different coming for the north or northeast

That slightly pulsating light on a mountain in the distance must be the one at Rusaberget radio mast.

IF it was the light in a roughly northwest direction from MasskƤr ?

If notā€¦ :man_shrugging:

Could this be related to the large explosions that happen on Himfjall Island at Tarnboda Skans? If Iā€™m remembering correctly, when you go there to complete the mission ā€œMake Some Noiseā€, you go to the top of the Overtarnafyren lighthouse, and shortly after you activate the siren at the top, thereā€™s a huge explosion in the town below and one of the survivors in the hotel asks if you were responsible for it.

Iā€™ve noticed that when approaching Tarnboda Skans (from any direction), the explosion replays, but not the dialogue. I might try leaving a field radio there and fast traveling to see if thereā€™s a projectile like the one youā€™ve noted at the resistance camp.

Could it be that itā€™s actually the military firing the artillery shells in an attempt to help the resistance? Maybe when that event first plays out, itā€™s because there are machines attacking the resistance camp and the military is trying to assist. If I remember correctly, the explosion in Tarnboda Skans destroyed a few machines for me when it happened during ā€œMake Some Noiseā€.

Iā€™m not sure leaving a field radio there will work for helping to see if a shell causes the explosion at Tarnboda Skans. Thereā€™s a safehouse in a garage near the lighthouse, and the explosion plays before you can finish loading from Fast Travel.

When game world is initially loaded (when you Continue your game), it is loaded in a state where no missions are done. Once you reach near the spot on map which has different setting compared to the initial setting, game checks your completed missions and then loads the mission specific event, so when you reach that spot, it is as it should be post mission.

There are few such spots on the map: RƖ, FOA5, Himarvet, TƤrnboda skans.

Thatā€™s what I figured. Is that whatā€™s happening at the resistance camp, though? I havenā€™t tried it out. Either way, what do you think about the idea of the explosion in ā€œMake Some Noiseā€ being caused by the same artillery at work at the resistance camp?

Iā€™ve been using my time to look at grounded Swedish artillery to see if the noises they make resemble the electrical hum of the unknown weapon. This probably means its propelled by magnetic friction of some sort like more new modern means of artillery.

Iā€™ve had a look for Swedish ammunition shells specifically for artillery from before and I havenā€™t been able to find any that resemble the shell in question.

The shells bear almost no resemblance at all. Not even having markings, cereal number or flag.

And the source of the red light is visible on the shell itself. I have no doubt that this ā€˜weaponā€™ is completely fabricated by one of Ulmers manufacturing sites that we havenā€™t destroyed yet.

Hear is the sound by itself of the Shell being fired. I would include the mp3 but It doesnā€™t allow that on the forums.

Also I canā€™t include the images of the Shell model because of the use of DECA to get it and Iā€™d rather not get hammered.

Explosion made in the ā€œMake Some Noiseā€ mission is made by player char.

You first set a small fire and by the time you get to the top of the lighthouse, fire has spread enough to ignite the long red canister in another room which makes it, and basically the whole building, to blow up.

There may be multiple directions the shell comes from leading to a suspecting pattern which I suspect could be found using the power of multiplayer and sound we could determine the source

Hereā€™s a map of my predictions with possibilities and some arrows for trajectory course

2nd assumption: Remember when harvesters dropped hunters from the atmosphere, it may seem like there a space ship or an airship with artillery above bombarding the area (because the shells are always angled more than 20 degrees suggesting dropping from space and the shape of the missile proves that as well (remember this is a theory, donā€™t take this into consideration but you can speculate if you want :3 )

Thank you, you too also are a great person yourself

Thanks Iā€™m working out how fast the projectile would have to be firing by seeing the distance between Torsberga and the camp. Then calculating that with the seconds between launch and landing. And maybe that could help your map?

That would be appreciated, and maybe we could even do multiplayer to map out and locate the source of the artillery as well
