New Weapon Ideas

And, I agree. We’ve got sticky flares, sticky bombs need to be a thing!

How about the Colt Canada C7. It is an M16/AR style rifle. Based on the M16A3. It has been in service since 1984. And is used by Denmark, Netherlands, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden’s SOG uses it as well. I personally think it would be cool to see an M16 style rifle. Since we have two 7.62 rifles. I think another 5.56 option would be cool to see.

Since I think there should be a better use of the Möller PP ammo, I think the game should have a Möller PP Longslide:

Speaking of .32 Möller ammo, Ruger 10/22 could be adapted to use .32 in-game (it uses .22 in real life).

It is “less than lethal” weapon IRL and comes with 10 round mag.

Possible in-game modifications:
Scope: none or 1-4x
Vision mods: any
Mag: any (up to 15 round mag)
Barrel mods: none

And for experimental version of 10/22, it would have following mods:
Scope: 4-8x
Vision mods: any
Mag: 50 round drum mag
Barrel mod: 5* silencer

On experimental 10/22, only vision mod could be changed, while the rest are hard-wired to the weapon and can’t be changed.

Image as well on how the regular looks and how the experimental could look like:

.32 ammo definitely needs to be given a new purpose at some point.

Issue with low damage ammo such as .32 is… it does low damage.
Sure, one can haul more ammo since lower weight, but it has about the stopping power or penetration power of a paper plane thrown at a machine.

To insert more lower ammo weapons would be… pointless, I reckon?
No matter if a rifle or not, the ammo would not do any good…

Hmmm… diamond tipped .32? :stuck_out_tongue:
JK, it would be equally pointless, as there just is no weight to the ammo.

@Xogroroth Sure, the usefulness of the .32 can be argued against. It’s efficiency is limited to prototype class machines, IMO.

However, there are so many weird, not thought-through weapon suggestions on the forum, that I intend to give praise to some of those that would actually make sense to put in the game. I think @Aesyle’s suggestion does.

Agreed, still, though I respect miss Aesyle immensely, I do not quite share the opinion of more low damage weapons, sir.
It is NOT the WEAPON that damages, but the round fired.
Hence no one creates a .22 long distance sniper rifle.
Simple logic.

Thus why focus on it?

How about a totally fictive .44 assault rifle, sir, to just come up with something?
Hell, Sweden 1990 in GZ could perfectly well have designed one, no?

It would be illogical to focus, ESPECIALLY in the GZ Sweden, to focus on ammo that can’t even kill a duck.
Or weapons around it.
Do you disagree, sir?

Put yourself in that reality…
Would you create a new .22?
Or focus on .22 ammo?

You could use the .32 round in a weapon with an absurdly high rate of fire and almnost no recoil. I mean, you’ve got the round in the game, all over the map - might as well use it in something. A burp gun of some sort. Its effect on the machines might be total disorientation. That might be fun at close range.

Long guns are commonly chambered in pistol calibers IRL.
.22 lr is just as common in pistols as in rifles.
Lever action rifles for instance, are common in both .357 mag, and .44 mag.
A pistol round fired by a rifle will do more damage than by a pistol. The length of the barrel determines how much velocity the round is able to build up before exiting the muzzle, so in that sense you can say that the weapon itself does VERY MUCH determine how much “damage” the bullet does.

And BTW, the 5.56 mm is a .22 caliber… 0.224 inches to be precise.

I do of course agree that more low damage weapons will not serve much purpose for end game players.

In fact, adding to that, you might even be able to craft the weapon! That would give crafting some sort of usefulness. Home made! Find tubes, find metal. Burrrrp!

Here are a few idea:
For level 10 or 15+: barrels drop that allow new customisation on existing weapons.
Examples could be:
Moller .44
Meusser 556
Stud 762

Note, there are EXAMPLES, they are NOT intended for suggestion by me.

You didn’t get my point: how effective is a .22?
Now think of the GZ reality…

AWESOME, THAT is a DANG good one!!!
Yes, +10 by me there.

.32 minigun anyone?
When i think of it, that could even be done with less of battery requirement!!!
A suitcase minigun…

If it were like an Uzi or Ingram, then it might even count as a pistol, and go in slot 3.

My point wasn’t how effective it was either.
My point was that it’s not uncommon for pistol calibers to be chambered in rifles as well.
Thereby giving that caliber an extended usefulness.

Or a Mac10 or so, sure!
Love the idea…

On the suitcase minigun, it actually exists… well in 2020…
Now imagine a 100RPM (to restrain battery power need)…

Ah, yes… agreed, my apologies, I thought you meant it for GZ usage.

Would anyone like to see some current weapons but for heavier cal types?
As I suggested above?
Really like to see thoughts there.

And how about the fast-fire low cals?

I have suggested a lever-action rifle several times earlier. Either by introducing a new ammo type, or by feeding it some of the already existing .44 Magnum.

I would also like to see a 1-hand machine pistol to use in the sidearm slot.
It could be an Uzi, using the 9 mm pistol ammo.
We need to put all that pistol ammo to some better use!

As for the heavy weaponry, I’ll settle for an exo-skeleton suit with a shoulder mounted M2 Browning.

@NJR87
Nice!!!
As for SMG to Pistol, I agree.

Dual wielding a Mac10 or similar would also be neat?
Thoughts?

@Xogroroth
Dual wielding sounds cool, but I doubt that will ever be introduced into the game, even though there are a few in-game hints, like dead NPC’s with a pistol in each hand. How on earth does one reload with a gun in each hand?

I wrote Uzi because it uses 9 mm, Mac-10 is in .45 acp, I think?
