Please add "New Game"

You can always save to a USB flash drive.
It´s what I do with some games. specially those with no new game Plus.

thanks for the help and now makes it a bit easier to understand as well… appreciate it

The New Game option is missing from the Main Menu on the computer.
I wish I had a choice of games from the very beginning.
When I started playing “Generatio Zero” there were some important updates missing. I’d like to be able to restart the game with all the tweaks. First of all, I would try to play it better. Sorry for my english (google translator).

My wife and I truely enjoyed this game. We have played every FPS coop campaign game there is. The only thing We have always wanted was to be able to play it from start again without deleting our original characters; so we can use them in dlc’s as they come out like we did with FNIX Rising. We are currently playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint again with new characters and would love to be able to do the same in Generation Zero.

You can create up to 4 characters in Generation Zero. This way, you can keep your original character and when new content releases, make a new, level 1 character, to play the new content.

I would love to replay the story again as well. Without sacrificing the progress I’ve made with my characters.
I really wanna relive the unwrapping of the plot.

Yes I guess I didn’t make myself very clear at all. I would like to be able to play from the start the storyline again with all the missions and the plot like you said RoZo. Like the Borderlands games, start and Character and start from the beginning of the story, or start the story over with your original character, only at a tougher level (true vault hunter). Sorry Aesyle if I was unclear, but thank you for the reply

There actually is a method of starting a new playthrough, and keeping your original character all in one. Though you cannot do both at the same time.

If you’re on PC and want to start a fresh save but keep the old character, navigate to your documents folder, show hidden files, find avalanches folder, find Generation Zero, find saves, then copy and paste them into a different folder outside of the avalanche folder in your docs and you’re good to go to erase your characters with that original save stashed in a different folder.

On console it’s a bit trickier, but only by a marginal amount.

On console you need to have a USB or SD hooked up, navigate to your system, on ps4 this is found at the very end of your top bar, not positive on Xbox but you just need to locate your saved data.
then you have an option in your saved data menu to copy files to a SD, so select that option and tick off GZ then accept. the save should be moved to your SD and permanently safe there to be moved back onto your console later if you so choose.

*On xbox head to the ‘Storage’ menu and you will now be able to select any data you wish to back up, to access a menu select the save you wish then select ’ Transfer ’ and you should be able to move any saves you want!

Now for consoles i’m not sure if you need to turn off cloud saves, but i did back when i was on PS4 and had zero issues over the span of like a year and a half
(plus manual back ups are better than cloud saves don’t @ me)

EDIT: some contextual info added, and xbox info added

There should be a option or a mode where u can restart your story (like far cry 5 as an example called a new game+ when u finish the game) because I would love to replay the story wwithout making a whole new account but that could be a lot of work, maybe when u restart u could have an option of either selecting a new character or choosing an existing one, what you think?

I don’t see why we can’t restart the missions themselves, when I first saw the plundra tutorial I thought:“wow it’s just like Borderlands two’s claptrap locker” (you could put items in and it would act as an char-wide storage) why can’t GZ do something similar by letting you tweak items between chars while still allowing the restarting of mission? basically you completely restart but can keep all your items

Here’s one reason: GZ isn’t Borderlands.

As far as New Game and/or New Game+ goes, well, we have to see if it comes.

I’m not saying it is, I’m saying that we already have a storage container that goes between all chars, it’s not quite new game+ because you lose all char levels and progress BUT you get to keep all of your items that you transfer from a previously finished game

That is a bug within game. Since when you delete all your chars and get restart to mission progress, you should also loose contents in your Plundra.

In december, I tried starting a “new game”. There is 2 ways to do this.
1: Delete your save file and start completely fresh.
2: Delete all your characters and keep what’s in your Plundra.

I went with option 2. The lack of time I have to play made me reluctant to let go off all the weapons I have collected.

So I started fresh at Yttervik, but just a short walk away stood a box crammed full of all the game’s best weapons. The backdraw of this is that it completely removes the original tension of the early game, and just turns into a cakewalk. I could choose not to use my best weapons, but I’m not that good at fooling myself.

So I do not care about a “New Game +”, but I would really like the option to start a completely new game without deleting your previous end-game save. This would require the option to have a secondary save, like different profiles pr. player. You have this in so many other games, so I suppose it would be possible to implement. :slightly_smiling_face:

At this point you have to fight your inner pig dog and start with the Moeller Pistol and nothing other.
But what’s about the other findings. On the roof top of the Kiosk the rusty Klauke or the Mauser 12 at Björksnäs. Did you find them again, when you star a new game?

@helldiver My “innerer schweinehund” can be hard to beat in such matters! :joy:

Yes, all the weapons you find in the game are back where you first found them. :+1:

I just used my best weapons, and instead focused on exploring my surroundings more than I did the first time. There were a lot of things I discovered that I had missed earlier. :slightly_smiling_face:

LOL

Yes going around on Ibboholmen i do so often. As i played the game the very first time, I walked at the beach or trough the wood for many ours of playtime to get into Stenhaga or Mortsnäs.

Now i love to walk around i go from the starter house to Angsnäskogen. (where the stone heard is on the beach).
And then i encounter “Joe” , this is a hunter what lurks at the way to Angsnäs. I called him “Joe” because i make a fight with him and train my skills fighting down a hunter.
First time i shoot away his Arm MG and then he gets something with the baseball bat or with the sledgehammer. :joy: But sometimes he made sushi from me with his sword.
