I’m in the process of playing through Alpine Unrest for the first time. Anita’s dialogue seems to be silent. I’ve done two main missions where she is clearly speaking to me, but there is no audio, and no subtitles (I have verified in settings that subtitles are turned on).
Is this a bug, or was she always silent, with the story being delivered just through the text details in the mission screen?
If she is supposed to have a voice, can anyone else confirm that she is now silent?
I’m quite sure she once had a voice.
Did you try to switch to an other language in the settings?
I remember in the past there sometimes were issues with the localization. If I set my playstations system language to english for example, textes where there while they were missing or wrong linked when I had my original setting (german).
A question: do we think we might get more input if we cross-posted this to a different part of the forum? The FAQ from the devs did say they would no longer be actively checking this section, so perhaps the rest of the forum users are, similarly, not paying attention as much to Support & Bug Reports?
If we keep it here in Support & Bug Reports, then I’d like to give it another day or two, then consider moving the list to a more formal document where we can maybe add some details for each bug, for example:
has it been observed on all systems?
is it reproduceable easily or does it occur too randomly to do that?
is there a workaround of any sort?
Next step after that would be to look at a poll. Are there any admins in this thread who know if there is a poll feature built in to the forum, so we could keep that public and ensure each user gets only one vote?
One minor correction re. the vanishing rivals: while the harvester that I mentioned was definitely in the area of Overbyan (in the woods on the bank of the river south of Stralsund), this bug is not confined to that region. I know for certain of at least one occasion where a rival hunter disappeared just east of Himarvet on Himfjäll, and I think there were others elsewhere as well, but cannot be definitive about the details. As with the other vanishing rivals, this hunter did eventually reappear.
Ooo, yup - there it is! I’ll give this another day or two, maybe cross-post into the general forum to see if we get any additional input, and then build a poll. We may only get a handful of responses, but it was worth a shot!
Thanks for the link, Hubble. The big things I’ve been irked about were machines not dropping loot quite frequently… especially after hard fought battles against Tyrants. However, playing today, I’ve not had any such problem, so maybe it was just a network glitch or my Xbox just having a couple bad days. Lol! However, I do believe others have reported machines not dropping loot.
Something else that irks me is no recovery for lost weapons. I am extremely careful when it comes to recycling, and if I’ve accidentally recycled, say, an experimental weapon, there needs to be a way to recover it. I had an Experimental Kvm 59 MG (electrical) and did not have occasion to take it out of my storage boxes til now, and now it’s disappeared. How about a Favorites system? Any weapon/attachment mareked as Favorite cannot be recycled or dropped unless you unFavorite that item.
Just remembered, I have a Special (Yellow) Kvm 59 Machine Gun, and it will not take magazine attachments.
I guess I’m also just a little irked about the notion that there is not gonna be anymore update/patch support for this game which I’ve enjoyed (especially with the QoL improvements) over the years. I understand that after a while, yes, support for games may drop, but if a game is still thriving, I don’t see why support should drop, unless there is a Gen Zero 2 in the works. I named my machine companion “Sir Chrome Hound” after another game that, IMHO, was dropped for support way too soon, that being Chromehounds.
Yeah there should be a topic or a post about that somewhere. We already asked for it long time ago, but it didn’t make it to the game.
Nevertheless, except for the empty loot in some machines from time to time I don’t see a bug in your post. Well, maybe the Kvm59 you mentioned. Haven’t heard of this kind of issue yet. If it’s still a thing, you sadly can’t do much. As you’re playing on Xbox, you’re not able to send your safegame file to the devs.
Yeah, that is a disadvantage with consoles when trying to explain an issue. Can’t send save game. Might be able to send a screenshot, but how do you save a screenshot of losing a weapon? Especially when that loss isn’t noticed till much later? Lol.
I’m still playing the game simply because, outside of its flaws, it is a pretty relaxing game.
As I stated elsewhere, perhaps in another topic, the issues I’ve described are probably not universal, as there have been players who’ve said they’ve not encountered the problems I’ve had. It’s like when someone buys a newly released game, and lots of players report problems, but there’s always a few players who haven’t encountered those issues, even if a patch/ fix hadn’t been made yet.
A bit mind boggling that the devs would not introduce a Favorites system to prevent accidental drops or recycles of Favorited items… especially if it was widely agreed upon by players.
I doubt they will fix anything, the game is unplayable for myself and others due to extremely poor performance on console and PC, even with powerful PC setups.
I guess the New Year Lunar event or what is was named is over, because I couldn’t find any more fireworks today. And with that also the previous state with performance hiting the fan like shit rater soner then later is back…
Strange that a programmed event had that impact and while it was active, everything flowed a little better in GZ, on PC anyway. Now the anoying splash screen announcing “Hey, you’ve found this 2C Ironside 57 times now.” Just flashes a few times before it crasch itself almost as fast as the FPS did in the weekly “Get in to the FNIX base” mission.
I think I’ll have to wait even longer this time than some days before I test GZ again.
