Let’s hope for a sequel, they said they plan on doing something more with generation zero
“Swedish Space Program”? What’s this?
Not trying to be harsh here, but after 5+ years of updates which fixed old bugs but created new ones, did you really believe that the development team wiuld leave this gave on a solid footing? If you’re truly exasperated, then get in the habit of familiarizing yourself with the development team on any game that you purchase. If the team does a lackluster job in your honest opinion, never purchase a game which they work on again. I know about half a dozen players who take the time to do this. Unfortunately, most don’t. You do you.
Regards…
That was the community given name for the ability to shoot at placed gas cans which send your character far far away through the skies…
The devs obviously adapted it for a department of FOA of which you can see signs in some bunkers.
In all honesty, no. I can’t think of a single update post 2019 that has worked as intended, or hasn’t at least broken something.
Exasperated? No.
Surprised? No.
Disappointed? Yes.
You and me both. The game had epic potential. Your solution is simple enough. Don’t purchase from them again.
GZ was a broken mess when it released. It could have ended right there, but instead development continued for five years. It may not have ended up where everybody wanted, but it came a long way nonetheless.
Everybody on this page seems to remember the 2019 version as some kind of perfect paradise, which is so untrue it’s comical, it had so many bugs and issues that it’s almost what the game was known for back then. Although there were a long list of things I liked better back then, I am for sure glad they kept the game in development instead of leaving it like that, whether it still has bugs or not. Not to mention somebody posted above saying not to support these devs ever again, which is your choice to make, but let’s not forget these guys are using 2016 apex, what do you expect out of their game in 2025, after 6 years of huge updates? For a small group they have actually done fairly well keeping up with large updates and events, and they even said for their future projects they plan on using a new engine, which will hopefully make it easier. Either way if they do decide to work in a sequel in the future, I know I will invest in it. However I will say, the balancing issues with base defense and other progression, such as the new resources, those kinds of issues are on them. Luckily in most areas if the game, it is balanced fairly well.
I kinda agree with you, but I personally can’t think of ANY update, in ANY game that hasn’t caused issues or broken something, it’s why they do hotfixes and patches after updates in most games.
By the way… Do you see any chance or do you have any influence, that the devs correct the given points of the fmtel missions?
It’s just one point, no matter which difficulty the missions have. With that given, it’s impossible to finish Tank lvl within a week.
And this issue just came with the hotfix, as far as I’ve read the reports.
I don’t, unfortunately.
I don’t expect Support and Bug Reports will get much attention now. I’d prefer if it was repurposed, to
avoid confusion when people report issues in the future, but it’s not up to me.
Now that this game’s done, I have a question for you, Zesiir. Why are the remaining islands inaccessible to players? I managed to get to the largest one on one occasion and explored a small part of it and my game didn’t crash, nor did anything detrimental happen to my game AFAIK. What was the real story on that?
So let me get this straight.
They are NOT going to fix the bugs that THEY INTRODUCED in December?
The game was BETTER before DECEMBER, im not even going to talk about performance and being better in 2023, its just about the bugs that “Last update” brought.
After everything they really want to leave the game with bugs from their latest update?
Major issues with companion and throwables not working as intended besides the others we pointed out?
I see.
But the question is: is there any way for a chance to adress the devs, at least for this fmtel-issue?
There are more issues that affect different players on different systems in greater ways, of course, but advertising with the fmtel-missions on one hand and having them impossible to finish on the other hand isn’t that nice, too.
Will there still be in-game events?
Yes. Procedural Missions and Daily Assignments/FMTEL Missions will still refresh as they do now. We will also have some special events go live from time to time.
Idk how the system works and how easily it (the points per mission difficulty) could be changed, I just know that they were able to update the fmtel-missions without releasing new update-files or game versions in the past.
They were never developed enough to be playable. The devs added the “barrier” to avoid players getting to
possible places they shouldn’t, and potentially uncovering new issues, in case that they were ever going to develop content there. The mainland also has a crap-ton of landmass that you can technically walk across, though it’s just randomly generated terrain.
I can only guess as to why the other islands weren’t developed. Time, resources etc. The original dev team was re-staffed post Covid, and the new team had a different vision for where to take the game.
In the end they ended up using one of the islands. But I don’t think there was ever enough scope to make the entire map playable. More like a canvas for the devs to work with and decide where to make content.
I agree, I wasn’t around when it first came out, but I did see a lot of work get done in the two-ish years I played, I would definitely buy a sequel.
Okay, many thanks for your reply. Last question. Since the game ‘is’ now officially over, what is the reason why the other islands are ‘still’ inaccessible? What issue could people uncover, particularly since many people have been there before? I’m asking because I always believed that the game world itself was by far the strongest asset in the game (stellar, in fact) and I’ve always wanted to explore the two top right- hand islands. It’s not as though there’s some spot on them which would ruin one’s game files. Any light that you can shed?
That explains the complete shift in tone. Thank you!
I guess:
Just guessing…
