Hey so about the EULA, I think something is a bit wrong. I was a little curious to see if anything had changed since I last took a look at it a few years ago. Between section 17 and 19 there used be one called 18 Prohibited use. It’s gone, well partialy. The text “18 Prohibited use” and the paragrahp explaing the section has been removed, however the list of things it prohibits is still there.
Here is a screenshot from a video I made talking about GZ’s EULA back in 2022. I checked there first as I rememberd having taken screenshots. The section number is out of frame but “Use of your own…” is still there. Above the highligthed text in yellow is a paragrahp missing from todays EULA, talking about the things in the list below being prohibited.
Here “Section 18 Prohibted use” and it’s associated paragraph is gone. I knew a screenshot from an old video wasn’t a good way to check how the EULA was before. So I went to the web archive. The earliest date featuring the complete version of section 18 was June 6th 2023
It can be concluded that the EULA after that date was changed, for reasons unknown. Wich I believe could lead to confusion. While the majority of the list have the “May not” or “Will not”, some dont. However I’m very suprised that the section number, it’s title and paragraph just vanished so easlily. One minor thing, Section 27 Modification has changed to 7.
A little ironic given how it’s stated it wants us to check the EULA peroidcally. By no means I’m I a legal expert. However I think this is something serious and someone with legal expertise should take a look at and fix. Perhaps also changing last updated if this is how the EULA is meant to be now.
Carni, I do appreciate the effort that you’ve put into the game, even if I’ve sometimes come across as harsh. I do believe in this game. I play the game straight up and have purchased every pack that’s been released. My only real beef has been that the game has far greater potential than what we’ve gotten. That said, I just don’t understand the secrecy behind your next update. The last few reports have told us nothing of any real significance. If you’re satisfied that the community will like what you’re all working on for the next update, then why not just tell us? I’m not suggesting that we be given every last known detail. But how about a clear idea on what you’re doing? Frankly, my belief is that information of that nature would do wonders for the community.
Many firms choose not to reveal their current projects or schedules. In the past, sharing excessive details prior to a launch seemed to negatively impact the community, particularly when the projected plans and timelines for the next update were not met. The postponed console updates serve as a notable instance.
Some players have voiced their frustration and have resorted to name-calling because of delays. On the other hand, the development team seems to relish creating suspense. They are diligently working on an update, which they plan to release “super soon” following the announcement of its completion.
I’ve read your post. If you’re aware of the expected timelines announced for another game produced by the same team, you might also know how the community reacts to missed deadlines. The anticipated schedule not being met certainly didn’t please them. They may not want a repeat.
You: “In the past, sharing excessive details prior to a launch seemed to negatively impact the community, particularly when the projected plans and timelines for the next update were not met.”
Me: “I’m not suggesting that we be given every last known detail. But how about a clear idea on what you’re doing?”
It’s normal for your perception of something to change over time. The feeling of eeriness and uncertainty disappears the more you know about the events. The problem is when it stops being interesting.
The world of GZ is very empty, and the resistance only exists in name. Not more weapons, strange bikes or cars (). A few crazy people running around the map, exchanging fire with robots, operating machine guns in home bases or even a loud horn when the character opens a car door would be a great help.
For me new weapons are just fun for a few minutes in general.
Start the game, play 5 minutes with the immediatly existing 3c versions, scrap them, play half an hour to get a 5c version of each, lose interest because everything else is still the same.
For me the way new item-dlcs are added to the game just is bad.
I often thought about starting whole new game and even did it once… But after an hour I was bored. I had so many weapons and ammo, I didn’t have to hide or sneak or use traps, it was just too easy. And that’s Not just because I’m experiences.
That’s not the game any more which I loved when I started to play.
I’m missing something really new to explore or to experience. Just getting something directly into my hands (or plundra) or grinding hours and hours for a new augmentation isn’t what I’m looking for.
A survival mode with more enemies patrolling the roads and urban and industrial areas and less weapons and ammo would have been great, now however, there is only a 5% chance they will give us that.
I think we’re getting island 2 because I was able to get on it using a few propane tanks and do some exploring without the “You don’t own this content” message. The restriction has been removed. Then I tried the other islands but got the usual message and was kicked back to the main map.
