Specialization in both the Combat and Scavenger skill trees. I’m debating about whether or not I should invest all the way down to a specialization.
The only one I’m REALLY interested in is the Combat skill tree specialization that grants you an extra 25 percent damage resistance.
Otherwise, there are a variety of skills scattered randomly throughout the trees that I am interested in.
Also, there is a Trophy that requires you to have 2 characters both with an active Specialization so I suppose I should have my character Specialize for that reason alone.
Do it but only 1 specialization per character 2 isnt worth it. Active specialisations are the best. The Top 3 in my opinion are probably, Vanguard, Survivor and Marksman. the others are good but less useful. Hacking a machine is fun but in the long run you have a low chance of a successful hack. Engineer again fun but not worth it. Commando 15% damage boost to an undetecting enemy is good. Commander only worth it if u have reliable friends. Same with medic
One thing that I think 99% of GZ players will agree to, is that your first character is kind of a prototype. You are almost guaranteed to pick some skills that you end up regretting later, or you realize that you have no use for them.
@FilthyLittleGodPS4 On my first character there’s 3 or 4 points I regret spending, so it could have gone worse. Also, the game doesn’t tell you that the lvl. cap is 31, so you have to hear it from others in order to know.
Seems to me you’re paying a high price for unlocking the Component Damage skill.
For a combat focused build, I think your points 25-28 would be better spent toward 2 points in Salvage, doubling your ammo find, so you can fire that KVM until it’s glowing red. Also, Salvage is critical for finding enough .50 cal. (I also think Chemist and Lockpicking are more useful than Spotting Intel and Inquisitive Mind.)
This is just my opinion, of course. I don’t mean to tell you your build is any worse than mine.
Remember, this is a 2nd character build with over 2000 hours of loot in a Mule that crashes online sessions - I don’t need ammo, or anything else for that matter.
Chemist offers no additional damage resistance. Both me and Diesel tested it - same death over time.
Lock Picking is pointless, as my main unlocked everything and base game tracks everything.
Both of these points were actually covered by Diesel at the point of 24 Skill Points. I explained to her that it wasn’t about wasting Spotting Intel & Inquisitive Mind - it was about working backwards in order to create a character with the most damage available in the skill tree.
The end goal was make 'em count - and trust me my AG5 on this build with single shot…
