Weekly stream - summary request

I’m excited.
Which one could it be?

If we take the categories of weapons (melee, handgun, AR, SMG, LMG, hunting rifle, shotgun, sniper rifle, recoiless rifle) there is only one option left:

The hunting rifle. Which could lead into an exp Älgstudsare, which many already wanted.

But as I suggested I would love to see another change in the existing exp weapons:
Change the exp KVM59 to an exp KVM89.

Why? Because with the exp AG4 there already is an exp weapon with 7.62 ammo. For 5.56 there is still one missing. Additionally it could solve some problems when using the exp KVM59 with shock ammo… If there is no shock ammo (in 5.56) for it, there is no problem any more.

Regarding the “soon” : I assume that it will be in may, because there has already been one update for april… And june wouldn’t be soon

Thx for the summary.

They didn’t say that there would be another Experimental, they just said that if there was, it would be free. And I think they mentioned that it could be a new free weapon with an Experimental version. So not necessarily just the launch weapons.

Don’t quote me on that though, I didn’t quite catch what they said in full. So I might be misinterpreting.

Maybe not the cross-play that forced the downgrade in graphics then.
But I still get the feeling the graphics have suffered a downgrade on the PC version since some way in after the release of the console versions.

Graphics suffered this when Base Assault dropped last week. They never did before hand.

I would like to disagree with your statement, the draw distance for machines dropped down long before base assault dropped.

Noticed it first time during last fall.

Maybe they decided to “optimize” the game for lower specs PCs. :man_shrugging:

Oh it’s wednesday again.
Anything new the week?

Didn’t have the time to watch the whole stream, but they said that there was no set date for the fix yet.

From today’s stream:

A new weapon pack will be revealed on the GZ Twitter tomorrow at around 17:00 CET (I think) and will release next week!

The console hotfix has no specific date yet, but it’s a top priority, should be ‘sooner rather than later’.

They also experienced this bug live, where Carni saw a FNIX Base icon showing level 1, when in actuality it was max level:

Apparently the bug affected not only the icon for Carni, but also the entire mission.

There will ‘most probably’ be FNIX Bases in other regions.

They’ve looked into adding friendly machines, but apparently it’s very complicated to make the friendly AI. Pontus was in favor of it especially.

They’ve been looking into overhauling the intro missions to better guide new players into the game.

They’ve reiterated that a skill respec is coming, but nothing about any full skill overhaul. It’ll cost resources to respec.

Aaaaand that’s everything.

Interesting. Who might guess what’s inside?
Just one thing… Are there different devs for bugfixing than for new paid stuff or are they the same? Priority should be on bugfixing.

Now the speculation:

  • soviet weapon pack 2
  • a pistol
  • a smg
  • a lmg

By that the weapon types of all soviet weapon packs would be the same as from all of the us weapon packs.

I really hope this is the last Weapon pack for a while, rn there is almost the same amount of DLC weapons as base game weapons yet we havent seen a single base game weapon since FNIX Rising in 2020. And the game really needs to have bugs as top priority, unless it is a different set of devs doing weapons like Chaser suggested.

It’s quite apparent we won’t get any weapons that are not dlc related anymore, It obviously brings in money so there is no reason for them to stop. But at least I hope they can go back and improve the quality of the weapon packs so they become more worth it to buy, For example buffing the dmr weapons.

I really hope all this paid dlc is funding an update focused around QoL and bug fixes
I think we need a break from base stuff until they’ve worked out all the kinks around its inclusion and purpose

They said it won’t be a Soviet, American, or Swedish weapon pack. And apparently one of the weapons is a big game changer, or something like that.

Guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

:flushed:
Wow, I didn’t expect that. Now I’m excited.
But in my eyes it means, we can expect even more weapon dlcs…

Or fixing bugs… At least for the missing auto-reload if empty for the kotenok.

Or they could rethink the way the dlc-weapons are provided. I once made a suggestion about a much better system… A way that you won’t be able to use all of them right from the first plundra if you start a new game. I’ll look for the post an quote it here to bring it back to mind

It’s nice to read that they are now bringing guests to the livestreams. Thanks, @VladTheInhaler.

So far on the stream:

Pontus has been using all three new weapons

He’s said that the console Base Assault hotfix will be released tomorrow at 10:00 CEST, same as the Resistance Weapon Pack

The Bow has a unique scope (not sure if integral or an attachment) and has standard and explosive arrows, maybe more ammo types as well

The flamethrower uses “Napalm” as ammo, not sure how you find it or how common it is

Won’t be able to catch the rest of the stream, but highlights of what’s been said so far:

Ladders could theoretically be added to the game, there’s nothing in the engine necessarily stopping it.

The bow uses 3 types of arrows - standard arrows, explosive arrows, and flare arrows. The first two are self-explanatory and the flare arrows launch a flare to a much further distance than can be done by hand.

The standard arrows can be recovered from the ground if they don’t break, they’re more likely to break the more you charge the bow. You have to do a “HOLD _ PICK UP” interaction to grab them off the ground.

The flamethrower acts similarly to the Apoc Hunter flamethrower and uses ‘Napalm’ as fuel, which can be crafted using accelerant.

Arrows can be found in backpacks and other ‘world containers’, while napalm can be found in toolboxes.

Sitting, laying down, sleeping, etc. could also theoretically be added, but there are no plans.

Helicopters are never going to be added… :sob::sob::sob:

I just looked into the video on twitch to see something about the new resistance weapons.

Here some screenshots from the stream

It’s just a little bit sad that the screens of the guests were just right in front of the weapons.
