What games besides GZ do you like playing?

I did all of them too.

The last games that I did were “Stalker 2” and “Star Wars Outlaws” (both open world games).

Now I am playing another great game, “Indiana Jones and the great circle”. Here the explorer and detective side is needed. Needless to say I enjoying this very much. I’m trying to find everything, but that’s by no means an easy job.

Is it good? I’m waiting for a sale to buy it, it seems a bit repetitive. Far Cry suffers from this too, but much later in the game.

Genertion Zero
Wasteland 2&3
X-COM
State of Decay 2
Fallout 3 and New Vegas
Weird West
Limbo
Far Cry Primal and 5

I tried DayZ, but how I hate the community! And it’s online only, so it’s not for me. GZ and SoD2 are better at this and generally have the best online experience I’ve ever encountered.

One of the only shooting games I like. The “ping” sound causes a wave of joy!

I’ve been hearing about Stalker…may have to check into that one. As long as I can do it solo.

@TheDoorsBR …Both Wildlands and Breakpoint are excellent…Breakpoint being a little better. One thing I learned playing them solo is at the beginning your AI teammates are definitely a must have. Later in the game not so much. I usually hate playing with AI as most of the time they are more problematic than anything…but not so in Wildlands especially. Also the controls and movement of the games are top notch…no getting hung up on every little branch or leaf. The choppers are a blast too.

Black was fun but if I remember the controls were unusual a bit but not game breaking. They had the weapons sounds spot on too. The .50 cal sounded great. I play with about $8K worth of stereo turned on so sound is important to me. Too bad we didnt get a Black 2, 3 etc.

Buy it on PC, or else you will have to carry bodies through half of the map to serve as extra storage.
You can change the values of Weight in old games(trilogy) and there are mods for Stalker 2.

If you dont have a problem with that, buy it for console, its fun anyway, i have both versions of the trilogy .

I reply to you here now, Tim, that way it is never of topic. I am 80 hours in AC Shadows, and I always try to find everything, so that will take some time with such a big map.

80 hours in and still exploring, that’s brilliant! I’ve only a few hours, so it’s great hearing how deep the experience can go. Sounds like I’ve got a lot to look forward to with that massive map as I like to find everything too! With the game being relatively new I bet there are still secrets out there that no other player has stumbled across yet. Would love to be the one to uncover something brand new, it’s always a thrill being the first to find a hidden detail or location!

I bet most of the forum users who are left in here are of ages 30+, so maybe you have the same challenge as I do.

As I’ve gotten older, now 37, and the time I can spend playing games is diminishing with each passing year, I also find it increasingly difficult to get into new games.

I have always liked big, open games with lots to do and discover, but now starting a game like that feels just too overwhelming!

I have wasted so much money on AAA games, only to play them for 3 hours, and maybe even like the game, but then quit in agony because it’s simply too much to be able to digest. This exact thing happened to me with The Witcher 3, FarCry 6, AC: Valhalla, Horizon Zero Dawn, and several more. Now I always wait for games to come on sale, in case it turns out as another 3 hour, «turn around in the door» experience.

There are a few exceptions, like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Days Gone, which are 2 of my favorite games of all time, and of course Generation Zero.

Actually, I’m currently really hyped up abut an upcoming game, Dying Light: The Beast. I have even pre-ordered it, which I have not done with any game since I pre-ordered Generation Zero in february 2019! So I’m really stoked to play this! I loved the original Dying Light, but for some reason never felt for buying DL 2. The Beast will serve as my DL 2 instead. :star_struck:

To get warmed up, I’m currently playing Dead Island 2, which was a pleasant surprise. I was afraid I would have the same problem as I’ve described in this post with it, but I made it past the 5 hour mark, and now I’m really enjoying myself.

I found with many games in the early hours of playing that it’s often too much to remember how it all works, and it feels like I am not gonna enjoy this game. But when I stick with it most of the time when I look back I really enjoyed it. It takes time to learn all the new mechanics.

With the Witcher 3 I also never felt it, and stopped playing and Red Dead Redemption I might still try. However, I have other games that I’d rather spend money on first, like DL the beast, or the new Metal gear solid _ snake eater, especially because most new AAA game prices are between €70 and €80. So I also do try to wait for sales.

I still need to finish up AC Shadows (185 hours).

I know what you mean.
There are some games I started with, but somehow every time I start the consoles, and that’s mostly late in the evening, I first think if it’s worth starting a specific game because it takes so much time.

The Horizon games are an example for that, Jedi survivor is such a game (Jedi fallen Order was quite linear, I even got platinum), the spiderman games and far cry 6, too. And there are some others.

I’m about to preorder Battlefield 6 currently. Idk. I played the Beta on 2 days and it was fun in multiplayer, but I’m especially looking forward for its campaign.

I was looking for that one too, but i do not like multiplayer games. I was hoping there was a solo campaign for it.

Yes, there will be a solo campaign in bf6, but Idk its length.

Hello junior :slightly_smiling_face: Nice to have some kids around here :raised_hands:

Just ran through my full Xbox library, and here are the games (some of them a bit old) that I enjoyed and played to the end:

Gears of war 1-4: came with the console and casual fun to play.

Firewatch: kind of a weird, but kind of catching, story. Some kind of psychological drama with some exploration.

Hogwarts legacy: great game!

Kings quest: played with my niece, childish and fun.

Recore: okay for a while but eventually it became boring.

Tony Hawks pro skater 1-2: being an incarnated skater in my teens, this was a must. Great fun but I never got good at it. Cool soundtrack!

What remains of Edith Finch: story driven must play. A really great and quiet game. One of my favorites.

And here are some games (bought on sale) that quickly bored me out:

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Just didn’t work for me. Tried to play it with my niece, but she got bored too.

OceanHorn: for my niece too but same story.

Star Wars Jedi: fallen order: beautiful, by didn’t catch me.

TheHunter: beautiful but perhaps too slow.

Then a number of arcade, board, and card games that I play occasionally at leisure.

Inside is sitting there waiting for me. Did the first hour, but never played on. Apparently it is one of the most appraised games on Xbox, so one day …

Now I’m waiting on HalfLife 3 and would love a new installment of Portal :slightly_smiling_face:

Edit: Oh, I forgot Halo … total rubbish :joy:

I can recommend RDR2. It’s open world, slow and soo much to explore! The story is a little slow to start, if you stick with it through the opening blizzard part it gets really good!

I do the exact same thing! I hardly ever buy a game when it’s first released. I just can’t afford them. I’m a single dad and awful pay! But I’m rich with family and friends! Cheesy I know, but believe me, when the power goes out…they’re always there!

With Stalker, I lover their games, but have never beat a single one. I get started on the story and another game gets my attention more.

Another set of games I’ve really enjoyed and I’m playing 2 of them now, are the Spider-Man games from SONY. I got the 1st Spider-Man game with the special edition PS4 that my wife got me! The unit is red with a white a spider on it and it came with all the DLCs that were later released automatically! The Miles Morales story I had to buy it separately, but its been really good! And I’m also really enjoying Spider-Man 2 … I mean it has VENOM!!! LOL!

I’m really wanting to get that game, so I’m waiting for a really good deal! I’ve heard its a great game!

I wasn’t sure about that game. I played it and realized that it was with a controller. I like my FPS with a keyboard and mouse. I played for a bit but struggled with the idea of aiming and stuff with the controllers! Needless to say, I SUCK AT HALO!! LOL! But in seeing you say that you played it through twice, maybe I should give it another chance.

Are you on PC? I played Days Gone on Steam with mouse and keyboard. Also, I couldn’t aim with thumbsticks if my life depended on it! Mouse and keyboard forever!

I never claimed I was old, but older than I was before.

Yes, I am on PC. And I never could get the hang of controllers. So muis and keyboard for me too.

Amen! I absolutely hate these console game controllers! (Why don’t we have an “angry” or “annoyed” emoji? Isn’t a bitter, old fart allowed to have feelings?)

And that is a good thing! Keep that up and you’ll have a long life

I know you’re on Steam @Gysbert
I was asking @Vynym

I know @IanForce controllers are only suited for racing games, and some 3’rd person view games in my opinion. I played a lot on console in the era of PS2, PS3 and Xbox360, which I had all of. After 2013, it’s been PC only.
