What is the most Over Powered weapon in Generation Zero?

Maybe he means Tyrant instead Titan? :coffee:

You can’t do that anymore, for months now. The rounds no longer go through anything. In the past, you could line up 3 or 4 hunters running straight at you, fire a round from the level 6 PVG and all of them destroyed with that one round. You could also shoot the inside of the knee joint of a reaper and destroy the emitter on that joint and knock off the knee plate, not anymore.

There are a lot of weapons, with the right mods that now do a lot more damage than a PVG

But you guys keep telling the DEV team how we enjoy using what weapon and see how they get nerfed.

Maybe it even is a bug or even intended by the introduction of the augmentations.

There was a big thread as to WHY the PVG 90 should be nerfed and then just before the introduction to the weapons mods, the PVG 90 was nerfed. So yes, that is also what I was thinking.

So, for those of us that have been playing stealthy solo battles with the machines, we can no longer stay hidden when taking out runners, lynx and hunters. You can’t even take out a seeker in one shot. The only way the PVG 90 is a silent weapon is one shot from long distance.

But the Dev finally put the shorter timer back on the grenades and I can’t keep enough of them.

No, I do that all the time.
Yes, sometimes I don’t hit them perfectly and need more shots. But if you target their thrusters you should always kill them with one shot. Al least on skirmish.

I have never had to aim at the thruster of a seeker with a level 6 PVG 90.

If you were talking about a hunting rifle, pistol, maybe. Always hit them dead center BOOM. They explode. Next, I guess you are going to tell me that if I aim at the runner’s fuel cell or the hunter’s vents, fuel cells and blah, blah blah that I may be able to blow them up then?

I may have only started playing a few years ago, but after close to three thousand hours, I think I know a little about how to target the machines.

Anyway, you can tell the DEv team have lost interest in the game and so have the players.

The PVG90 has remained unchanged since it was introduced, what are you talking about?
Do you have a source to back that up?

That’s not true, any of it. I mean there’s literally a content update around the corner, and there are plenty
of people looking forward to it. Just because you don’t find the game interesting anymore does not mean
you speak for everyone.

I just guess that it’s also related to the bullet penetration. If the bullet goes through and then in the thrusters, it’s also deadly.

Or at least was. I have to check that out by myself.

Yes the first is a reaper titan and the second one is a flex titan and there are titans in generation zero

I could load an old file before the introduction of the weapon mods, or older, and turn off my internet so no updates and video the damage the PVG would cause before the mods came out. It was a few months before that I started to notice it doing less damage and taking more rounds to destroy machines.

In the past you could hit a proto class harvester in the rockets/large tank on its back a few times and destroy it before it could even take a few steps. It could happen so fast that the hunters/runners near it would not go into combat mode. Knock the leg armors off military and fnix class harvesters in a single shot, hit the tick pod of a tank with a few rounds and it comes flying at you. Tell me that still happens for you?

As far as players and losing interest. I see one thread on here about the update and it doesn’t have but the regular posters posting comments on it. Just finished a big sell on steam with 70% to 80% off, yet very few new players asking questions. You going to tell me the sells were really strong on that major mark down?

As far as I go, I still play the game and still host co-ops. I still enjoy playing it. Just went a few months with my game open to the public for anywhere to an hour to a few hours, most nights, and no one dropping in. That could be a steam issue though. But slow traffic on this forum and other media sources tell me the player base is losing interest. I am not wrong.

Have another player fire their PVG 90 into a machine and watch it from the side. Report back what you see.

Maybe Machine resistances got buffed though? It wouldn’t be the first time that has happened.

Well those “Titans” are called Tanks in GZ as we’re not playing Titanfall here… :man_shrugging:

Those of us that have been around long enough know that the objects on the map like cars and fuel storage tanks have been buffed so it takes more than a single round to get a reaction from them.

And if you are saying the machines, all of them, have been buffed then it must only be when using the PVG 90 rounds, the same as nerfing the weapon. The weapon is not nerfed but the ammo it uses was maybe. All other weapons I use seem to do the same amount of damage and take the same amount of ammo to destroy things on the map. I stop short of runner/hunters exploding so the burn from my level 6 AG4 finishes the job. I don’t like to waste ammo and it’s fun to watch a runner explode full sprint.

I don’t try to do the, most the time broken, assignments, waste resources on base building and defense. I long ago finished all missions on the map and only do a few of the weekly missions to get them off my screen. When I play it is to hunt machines to spawn reapers. Been doing it since the reaper was introduced.

My point and only reason I posted on this thread is that players that don’t like using a weapon should just not use it and not ask that a weapon be nerfed so everyone else that likes how the weapons are can continue using them.

Also, I wish I was wrong about the players losing interest and I was wrong for saying the DEV team also was losing interest.

I have bought every DLC as soon as it is released, some of them 3 or 4 times for others to use, even the base building ones that I never even used, along with some of the weapons. I would say I have always been an extraordinarily strong supporter of the game since I first started playing it and there were no DLCs yet and will continue to support it.

The PVG 90 has always been a good weapon.
The problem is players use the PVG against anything, its supposed to be used against Tanks , APOC Harvesters and APOC Hunters, the rest you use the other weapons, otherwhise the game is super easy.
In fact it takes a lot of shots to take down Tanks, the higher their class the more mags are wasted.
And to make it worst they even use it against everything while in Adventure difficulty.
That is like using an infinite RPG against everything it the most easiest difficulty in most NON Dark souls games.

And it seems the effect it has in some machine body parts has been changed indeed.

@asidk9thorn If we are indeed going to get a Minigun, it will probably be the most overpowered gun, dont forget to add it in the following days, we need to do some testing

Or it could be like the KVM 89 (level 5), high rate of fire but a large fire pattern and little damage for the rounds that hit near the targeted area and wastes to much ammo.

Yeah or some other negatives, like

  • “a Warm-up” phase… Needs to rotate for 2 seconds until it spills out the bullets.
  • 70% reduced movement speed while shooting.
