So our long journey through the machine-infested Östertörn is about to come to an end. Endless hours of exploring the land, improving our arsenal and capabilities, fighting ever more powerful adversaries, unraveling the dramatic events leading to this mayhem, and getting to know the history of the persons who caused it - and fought it. It is all soon to arrive at the conclusion.
Therefore it is also to be expected that we, the motley crew of players who alone or as small teams made up the resistance, will continue our separate ways in our pursuit of new adventures to explore, new quests to concur, new traits to acquire, new worlds to save.
Where will you go?
Some of you have indicated that in the past in @Gysbert’s thread already. But for my own part I usually play only one game at a time, I pick it carefully, and I play it thoroughly to the end. I’m from that distant past where Doom was released on Linux. Later I played all the installments of Doom, Quake, and Wolfenstein back in the 90’s. Then HalfLife and Portal. I bought my X-box in early 2019 as I needed a Blu-ray player and then I stumbled over GZ. Needless to say it captivated me and brought me lots of joy and entertainment. Recent rumors strongly indicates a new installment of HalfLife and if that (finally!!!) turns out to be true, I will be exhilarated!
But I also happens to be a great fan of the Harry Potter story and universe (despite being a grown-up), so when Hogwarts Legacy from Avalanche popped up at a significant discount during the Black Friday sales, I acquired it. And it is a marvelous game!!! I’m totally hooked and deeply impressed about the incredible quality of the game. I have many, many challenging hours of gameplay in front of me, so the holidays are arriving at a convenient time this year And the sequel has already been announced
So - again - what will your next adventure be in the gaming universe?
Terminator Survivors has piqued my interest. It’s still new in development, so there is not a lot of content about it yet online but will have a similar premise to GZ, Survivors vs Machine. It will also be coop.
Terminator survivor sounds quite interesting - something along the lines of GZ, I suppose. Never heard about it before @Thomas1 but I’ll check up on it
What’s this thing about transport simulators, @0L0? I’ve considers several train simulators on Xbox but never got to it as I fear I’ll spend too much uneventful time between destinations. Many years ago I played MS flightsim, and flying from Paris to New York was - except for the first and last 30 minutes - extreeeemely boring But take-off and landing was superfun. I guess there is some strategy in Euro Trucks too, but is it enough to keep you hooked?
But my Dying Light 2 just not working any more after done about half the game!
Is one bug, the only I had with that game and apperently when it happens you’r
No existing solution to it!
Hello @IanForce nice to see you here again. I play Euro Truck Simulator since 2015 and I’m still hooked. I have a driving license for Lorrys and i have drove Lorrys whilke my military service. LAter just for fun. I have both the ETS 2 and the ATS (American Truck Simulator) For me the ETS 2Simulator is the best because there is much to explore and stunning landscapes. The graphics are really great. That a flight simulator gets boring when you take aflight over the big bassin is just normal. The MS Flight Simulator shows you very realistic how boring a transatlantic flight could be.
I always liked driving games. Driving simulators for me started with Assetto Corsa and ETS2. Everything before that was just simple arcade racing, like NFS series or TDU.
For me the most important thing is visual realism, and properly modded AC is stunning. ETS2 is simply beautiful out of the box.
I also play MS Flight Simulator 2020 from time to time, but just for fun, no 10h intercontinental flights
Ok, I did that once … only once Mostly I “commuted” between Scandinavian and German airports and even back then the MS FS version X was very impressive as I remember it. But when I bought my Xbox, I changed my PC from a reasonably adequate gaming setup with joystick and flight controls to purely office work. And I’ve never got totally comfortable with the Xbox game controller. I guess that I consequently oversteer both of the thumb joysticks, which especially in the beginning caused me lots of trouble when aiming in GZ. And I dropped riding the bike in GZ after two or three attempts. Loosing the mouse when playing was not at all easy for me to get used to. Therefore no driving simulators for me as I will definitely start to wobble and crash. Otherwise I would love to play MotoGP.
How do all you console players avoid oversteering with the thumbs? I’ve read that the younger generation have developed more motor control in the thumbs than the index fingers due to mobile phones and gaming (evolution at work … and within only one generation!) but I still think there must be a trick to it! What am I missing?
I find easier to play with a controller than with joysticks or even a keyboard, specially in games that require us to drive vehicles.
I dont like the Xbox controler, the PS one feels less weird with the thumbs and movement button control.
You could buy the 8bitDO pro 2 wired controller for xbox, or one of the others for PC it might help you.
PS: I knew Atomfall was your “style”, let me recomend others that might be of your liking.
Industria 1 and incoming sequel
Chernobylite?
Metro series (i think you already played but il say anyway)
Hmm… I guess I’ll focus mostly on Elite: Dangerous again.
Btw: flying fairly well with a XBox1 controller. Got used to it during my DayZ days for flying and driving vehicles in ArmA2 and ArmA3 (incl. various mods)
@IanForce Ever thought of getting a proper steering wheel for your XBox? Might come in handy for racing sims… ymmv though
