Levelling-up and related numbers

I have been playing GZ every day, trying to level up one level each day, because I have nothing else to do. Already it takes much longer than in the beginning. I suspect there will come a day that I can’t get the level-up in one day, simply because the XP needed will be to much. I like to see when that moment arrives.

Since I had no real trouble playing the game, I show my numbers so far:

  • Level reached: 81 | 88 | 100 |
  • Total XP: 4053823 | 4538906 | 5379078 |
  • Side missions completed: 297 | 309 | 335 |
  • Total missions completed: 358 | 370 | 396 |
  • Locations discovered: 346 | 346 | 346 |
  • Locations completed: 373 | 373 | 373 |
  • Tokens unspend: 730 | 780 | 880 |
  • Number of Control Points claimed: 10

I tought I give it a try to push toward level 100 on adventure, after that I will still level-up of course, but then it will be without me especially doing a daily run around the game world hunting for maximum XP. I still enjoy it because I set myself this goal, but in the end it will get more and more tedious because of the repetition. :coffee:

Soon some new games i am waiting for will be released and I will be playing those.

Btw, Have you found out the percentage of XP each level is increasing each time? :bar_chart:

Very simple rule of thumb at the first 100 mark is taking your current level, and adding “00”. then take 10%.

This is the amount of XP needed to fill 1 of the progression slots, X 21 - and you have a XP level required for the next level.

@AliasDJA, not sure if I understand the method. If I take level 100 add 00 I get 10000, 10% of that is 1000 xp, wouldn’t that not be too little for one progression slot on that level.

Do you have a calculation example?

I guess he meant the xp of your current level.
Add 00 to 4053823 and take 10% of it. That’s what you should need for the next slot of the progression bar.

That’s how I understood him.
But I can’t imagine that this is working.

No, I don’t see that working either. A calculation example is always the best to follow.

I’ll take Level 85 as an example.

85 + " 00 " - 8500. - 10% = 7650 - this is the XP needed to fill one progression bar slot throughout Level 85

7650 XP x 21 slots for a full level preogression = 160,650 XP. The total needed to go from Level 85 - 86.

Ok, here a table for that:

BUT… This is just from lvl 1 to lvl 101.
I don’t know the exact values for lvl 0 to 1.
Maybe it’s the half of lvl 1 to lvl 2: 945. :man_shrugging:

Another way: take the Gaußsche Summenformel (n × ( n + 1))/2 with n for the lvl you want to calculate and do the steps described:

(((n × ( n + 1))/2) x100)-((((n × ( n + 1))/2) x100)x10/100)x21

I hope I didn’t miss something. Prove it.

It would be nice if you added the summation for each level. For instance Max XP at level 31 was 548874, and when I reached level 81, my XP was 4053823. So your summation for level 31 and 81 should be near that, within a margin of one progression slot value, since there is almost always some XP overflow into the first slot of the next level at the moment we see the level change. How much XP we don’t know.

If the summation is off, which I think it is, your starting xp value need tweaking. How did you you get that start value (100)?

In theory, yes there is variation which allows for some tolerance - but the problem is that there is no actual value table to start with. Even with the 3 runs I did to 31, it still only accounts for 31 so 31+ may have it’s own actual algorithm all the way to 10k. Sadly though, same boat - without knowing the exact XP between levels it’s anyone’s best guess at this point.

Maybe you can reverse-engineer it if you know the XP needed to reach level 10000, which is 698378874 XP, according to a picture I saw on Discord.

I added this column and I see, that there must be a mistake somewhere.

There may be a way to reverse engineer it, however - I do know one person behind the scenes that may be able to provide some clarity on it.

I started ending the last two levels, when it had only one slot to go, by destroying only small machines on Archipelago. Ticks, Seekers and Runners, and Hunters in the beginning. Nearing the end, I started destroying one machine at the time, run away, hid, and waited until the score bar showed. Repeated this until the next level was reached and gave me 5 uranium. Then I wrote down the total XP reached so far.

  • Level 87 ended with 4468910 XP (With a max possible overflow of one Prototype Runner’s XP)

  • So Level 88 started with 4468910 XP
    Level 88 ended with 4538906 XP > Difference gives total XP 69996 / 21 = ~3333 XP per slot

I had some overflow issues with level 89, when more enemies were killed in an unexpected cars explosion. I couldn’t get a reliable XP reading for that level, that’s why I combined the levels 89 and 90, see below.

  • So Level 89 started with 4538906 XP
    Level 89 and 90 together ended with 4678899 XP > Difference gives total XP 139993 / 42 (2x21) = ~3333 XP per slot.

I did a single slot reading by noting each kill for the last slot killing low XP Machines, which was 3304 XP. So with an overflow into the previous slot, the slot value could easily be 3333.

Level 91 started with 4678899 XP
Level 91 ended with 4748943 XP > Difference gives total XP 70044 / 21 = ~3335 XP per slot.

Level 92 started with 4748943 XP
Level 92 ended with 4818890 XP > Difference gives total XP 69947 / 21 = ~3330 XP per slot.

Level 93 started with 4818890 XP
Level 93 ended with 4888897 XP > Difference gives total XP 70080 / 21 = ~3337 XP per slot.

Level 94 started with 4888897 XP
Level 94 ended with 4958895 XP > Difference gives total XP 69925 / 21 = ~3329 XP per slot.

Once again I had an too big overflow when ending level 95, so I had to combine 95 and 96.

Level 95 started with 4958895 XP
Level 96 ended with 5098876 XP > Difference gives total XP 139981 / 42 (2x21) = ~3332.8 XP per slot.

Level 97 started with 5098876 XP
Level 97 ended with 5169032 XP > Difference gives total XP 70156 / 21 = ~3340 XP per slot.

Level 98 started with 5169032 XP
Level 98 ended with 5238984 XP > Difference gives total XP 69952 / 21 = ~3331 XP per slot.

Level 99 started with 5238984 XP
Level 99 ended with 5308876 XP > Difference gives total XP 69892 / 21 = ~3328 XP per slot.

Level 100 started with 5308876 XP
Level 99 ended with 5379078 XP > Difference gives total XP 70202 / 21 = ~3342 XP per slot.

Taken overflow in account all measured levels so far seems to be holding 3,333.333 XP per progression slot.

Ooh that’s a lot lot lower than expected.

@ L52, its about 5k a slot atm

Could it be that in each level slots start low and value increases the further we progress in that level?

Maybe I should tally the XP for the first slot. But that is harder, because I tend to forget to do this, or just don’t see the bar when a lot is going on.

Looks unreal. You didn’t destroy many more machines since your last screenshots.
