Dang Gysbert, I come back to the forums feeling nostalgic and thinking it would be completely dead and inactive. You hit me with more updates to this useful tool. I been playing a bit the last few days mainly trying to find cool spots to take screenshots but any help I can provide give me a shout.
Yes. A number of the hot spots have different classes at different times and sometimes all of them that could be there, are there at one time.
I tried to jump to a few of the old hot spots of the past. Most of them still had machines just outside the safe house I traveled to. But to see what machines were there, I got more involved in destroying the machines than remembering the class and direction to travel from the safe house.
And I also donāt pay much attention to the names of the areas I traveled. Like the air base and once you get on the airfield, you can travel east or west and run into a small battle and it could be from zero machines, a lone runner, to 2 tanks to the east, a harvester with hunters and runners north, to a harvester with runners and hunters west. May even be a tank pop in as you take on the harvester. The air base can be the busiest or the deadest area.
Hi Denny, good to see you returning to the old Forum. We had some great times exploring the Gz-world.
About the Map, I have been keeping it up to date all the time the best I can. By doing that I have seen many small and big topographical changes which were a lot of work to implement on the existing Map. But I love doing this.
The game has evolved a lot, and It is still my favorite game. But we need new stuff.
As you can read we are trying to get a list of all hotspots where for sure always machines are. Once I have the coordinates I can put these hotspots on the map. If you want to help, just post the locations. For now Iām only interested in the locations, and not so much what kind of machines roam there.
Hi Gys. Iām just the same, popped back to have a look and see if there is any new of the next update.
Marking hotspots is a great idea! Iāll have hunt round on my next run through and see if I can spot anything newā¦
Stenmyra! The whole area can be a hotspot if you visit after the region has reset. Just head for the closest machine noise. Firebirds, Wolves and company, always 2 tanks to the north, northwest. Hunters mixed with lynx to the east and southeast. Firebirds are very common and can get up to 3 at a time. Most always, all the loot boxes and soldiers have some nice loot too. Good area to rack up regional points to spawn things but you have to loot on the go because there can be a lot of machines.
Most all the safe houses in the marshlands region have machines not to far from the safe houses and you can hear most of them from the safe house.
A location I would like to put down is HƤllabacken farm / Prison (South coast region)
I particularly like approaching this spot from the lighthouse as there is normally a few runners outside and a hunter for a warm up followed by a pack of fnix hunters as you get closer to the farm leading to a build up to the big fight.
Around the farm / prison area itself I find there is normally 1-2 Tanks ( FNIX and Apocalypse ) and sometimes a Harvester.
I particularly like this area as well because it seems to get the best thunderstorms in my opinion leading to many memorable battles in this wide open area and a very nice area for screenshots.
I attempted to add one of my screenshots here but it was being awkward and not uploading properly so maybe another time
Nice to see you back on the forum.
Anything new would be great.
I think that I have a go at the hotspots this weekend. Make a start. I can always add or change them. Hopefully my program keep loading the map with all its layers.
Thanks, Added to the list.
Another place to farm hunters (regional points) on the south coast is AngsnƤs Manor. It is south of the church safe house, which normally has tanks and harvesters to the East, West and north also. But the manor is a place where you can keep triggering the hunters to spawn back at the manor repeatedly.
The south coast WAS a place where you could spawn a reaper. Close your game and a good chance when you start the game again the reaper would have jumped to the arena in the Marshlands. Something I have repeated more than a few times. But the update changed the way to spawn reapers so those fights will never happen again.
When I came there for the first time a few years ago, it was so terryfying. Hunters, everywhere huntersā¦again and again.
I added a number of Machine hotspots to the map. It is in the form of a greenish Circle which shows the global area where to expect them. I set the transparency to 33%, but if you would like it more highlighted I can change the value so you can spot them more easily. Iāve set the transparency on 33% to be less distracting.
Also I might not have all hotspots yet, or not placed correctly.
Let me know what you think.
One thing that I think could be a bit confusing are the different sizes of the circles.
It could either be seen as indicator for the size of the area where a hotspot is, or as indicator for the expected difficulty due to the classes, the types or the possible number of machines there.
Any Idea how to improve thatā¦to make it more clear? Or am I thinking too complex?
I can make them all the same size. No problem.
But the size was meant to indicate the area, not difficulty.
I believe that the transparency you have chosen is perfect. It is visible to those that want to utilise it for battle sites yet leaves enough so that others searching for different things can see what they are searching for and warned of a potential large battle to get to it.
Overall excellent job as usual Gysbert
These are hot spots, players should understand that it is a place you ARE going to get in a fight. Should also learn that the hotspots change in class and types of machines at times. I like the way the map represents everything on it.
Sums it up perfectly.
I have been on top the barn overlooking the whole area and sniped hunter after hunter till the first wave was done. Not detected, yellow alerts only. Donāt forget all the ticks hanging on everything.
Itās an area to lead a full squad into some fun.
I have a question for you guys. We find dead bodies all over in the GZ world. Some of them have white clothing. What do you think they are? A scientist, a medic, a doctor, a male nurse, etc.
Sinds in most cases we do not exactly know what their occupation was, what would be the best label for bodies in all white clothing?
White isnāt always a doctor/scientist or similar.
For them I would expect them to wear a smock.
This guy on the screenshot looks for me like someone who went for a party.
I donāt think that is the most plausible thing. Of course any thing can be true.
Edit: @Madchaser I think you were right, this guy has white pants also, and so far all other white coats have dark pants. So it could be party clothing. I found one more with white pants also.
I posted another post about the scene itself. This question was for help in coming up with a general label, which I then can use can on the map to show locations of bodies in all white clothing.
I think Iāll go with āWhite coatsā for now.
So now on the hunt for white coatsā¦
Any help is appreciatedā¦
Edit: So far found
10 White Coats with blue gloves and mask
2 White Coats with blue gloves and mask in prototype lab
5 Party-goers in all white evening suit.
