Multiplayer Issues Collection Thread

In my multiplayer games, we have found the following issues:

  • No one can see the hosts bases on the map.
  • Once the players get to the hosts base they can interact with the stations but not repair any of the buildings even with it turned on in the muliplayer settings. This makes base defense less fun for the host as they have to run around repairing since none of the others can.
  • When completing base assaults about 50% of the time the base does not disappear for the anyone but the host.
  • Occasionally but rarely a defeated rival will only be lootable by 1 player and rest cannot loot it.

After or before todays Update?

Hi GZ community & devs,

My sister and I played co-op this evening for five hours and encountered some issues:

  • Host player could not use Fast Travel to any safe house or field radio
  • Host player could not see the field radio on the map, whereas I (client) could see them and use Fast Travel as well
    *There is a glitch in the graphics between two walls just beside the church on the first missions where one meets the first NPC. It looks like a bundle of gray lines, horizontally.
  • Host player kept cycling into trees and falling of said bicycle (*might not be an actual bug)

Just some opinions of my own:

Skirmish difficulty is way too easy. So far I love the game, has the potential to be a fantastic RPG-FPS the likes we havenā€™t really seen since Half Life or Mass Effect.

First I ā€œlostā€ connection to Steam, according to GZ, and was kicked from the game.
Facts are that I did not lose connection with Steam or otherwise. Neither did my co-player who was the host.

Then I was reinvited by the host to finish up tidying our loot for the next session. When I join the game, I did not spawn in the last Safe House, but at the quay where you first spawn into the game for a new storyline.
I could not open my inventory, the map or game menu (ESC).

I could not use the crafting tables, storage chest, nothing. So I killed the game process via task manager, as I had no choice and rejoined.

On rejoin, everything worked, I fast travelled to our Safe House and was kicked from the game with the same ā€œconnection lostā€ error. Again, no connection was actually lost.

I get that at times, and it is very annoying, playing solo.

The lost connection is a bug that probably is triggered by issues with the companions in multiplayer.
If you just rejoin the running game following issues may be due to a problem with the session id of your instance.
In those cases in general the host has all your previous instances in the lobby. The game obviously has a problem with that.

I know of companions by flicking through all the menus, but we have none yet.

We played from 20:00 until 02:00 and everything was fine until around the time we started to make ready to quit.

The use of shock ammo in co-op, and at the least one guest, will cause the game to crash.
This is repeatable by having a guest or 3 on the map and using 7.62 shock ammo. The game will crash after just a few rounds fired. Does not happen when playing solo.

Just adding my problems as well. Iā€™m on PS5, buds I play with are on PS4. My game for the past few weeks will not let me send invites 70% of the time stating that Iā€™m offline even when Iā€™m not. So I close out the game and reopen it to where I can join their games just fine, but mine still wonā€™t allow me to invite. When i do joing their game, we are all constantly kicked off randomly, sometimes we can play for an hour, sometimes 2 mins. After hearing about the companion problems, none of us have them equipped and still running into these problems. Love the game btw, trying to get me some good experimentals and itā€™s addicting.

My NAT type is type 2. Should i try changing it?

No, 2 is perfect.
I would have expected 3.

Maybe there are some ports missing in the firewall.

Maybe Iā€™ll uninstall then reinstall, thanks for trying to help though, appreciate it :grin:

Description: Connection to host lost

I ā€œloseā€ connection. No connection was actually lost of course. Before I rejoin my co-player still sees me and my companion on the map/in-game. When attempting to rejoin my co-player sees me glitching on the map between where I am (on the road) and the position where I was when connection was lost (on a hill near two rivals).

Steps To Reproduce: Deploy automated homing turrets twice, got kicked from the game twice. We did not use the turrets after, game remained glitchy, losing connection, serious drop in fps/lag/stagger.

This is unacceptable. Paid for DLC crashes the game when used. Especially when the most recent announcement is about increased prices for, among others, my currency as well.

Platform: PS5

Description:
Since the companion update, I have been constantly getting dropped from the host when ever we get into a medium to large fight. And when I try to log back into the game it causes the hostā€™s game to crash while I get put into my own world.

Steps To Reproduce:
All 4(or even just 3) get into a medium to large fight. I lose conenection. Use invite to rejoin game, host crashes.

Specifications:

Short LAN cable with no internet connection problems.
A second player is from the same hosehold as me using PS4 with no issues.
Was streaming Generation Zero for nearly 3/4 of a year with 4 players. On weekends with no issues.

Things we have tried,

Checking after every update to see if this has been fixed.
Not using companions.
Fresh reinstall of the game(for all 4 of us).
Testing with the game files on system storage and after they have been moved to extended storage dive.
Upping my internet service. (Not explicitly for this game but was hoping it would help. I am now top teir thats supposed to be for PC pro gamers. Completely unneeded for this game)

Ps5 multiplayer failure. Started game two weeks ago. Had some minor clients getting bumped randomly. Then after entering farm territory. Anyone joining me gets kicked with in a minute. After a couple kicks the game starts tweaking out. Areas become unknown. Enemies that client killed just respawn instantly. Biggest issue is friends being kicked. Itā€™s a fun game if it was stable. It also seems the biggest change was when I purchased all the dlc that went on sale. If I could go back I would.

Ever since the Companion update, Rendering and Multiplayer connections have been fragged, the only time Iā€™m not crashing is when I donā€™t have my Runner deployed, kinda sad since I put money into a DLC I canā€™t use with friends. Iā€™m just surprised after so many updates that this is still a problem.

these issues are now happening on pc as well as the robots arnt renderingin for the host even though render distance is set to max as well as the robots will shoot for the partner but not the host as well as invisable safe houses enemies and robots as well as the ag4 spawn glitch on the harvseters are still therre plus sound glitches are still occuring

My issue with Multi is, I cannot join a mate (Connection timed out while attempting to join) However he can join me, although we are wanting to play on his instance. I have deleted & reinstalled tried every solution i have seen. Yet i still cannot join him, This is happening on PS5-PS5 connection
