New update a bit OP

We sound almost exactly alike. Iā€™m level 10 playing in scavenger but at the same place in the map you are and decided to quit. That area by the bunker and guys house was just stupid annoying.

I also had an endless amount of hunters spawning. Kill one and three appear. Was nice when they started spawning inside.

The harvesters can see you from a mile away Iā€™m the woods and kill you with pinpoint accuracy. You canā€™t outrun them and if you do, so what, thereā€™s four more harvesters right around the corner.

And why even fight them? You use all your resources and get nothing in return and then they spawn back in.

The chemical attacks from hunters spamming them is cheap and their constant barrage is also cheap.

I loved the first part of the game and now I hate it and think itā€™s utter trash. Their design decisions make no sense.

And why have so many tanks and harvesters? Having a few at key locations with hunters and runners everywhere else would make it perfect.

You constantly hear the thumping of the harvesters and tanks because they are everywhere. Takes away the intensity of the game. Would be so much better if you are hiking in the woods and then hear one, not knowing where it is. Instead, now, you know where they are. They are everywhere.

Iā€™ve killed heaps of hunters but am finding nowhere near the stack amounts youā€™re reporting. So I donā€™t know what the issue is then.

Honestly, this is pretty standard for games that are both developed and published solely by avalanche studios/expansive worlds and not by another corporation (like the just cause series being published by square Enix).

The games always start out as being extremely accessible during pre-release beta, and because of a lack of difficulty and forced direction by the developers, very player driven which means thereā€™s a wide range of people who can enjoy them. As people get more familiar with the game, they complained that the game is too easy, ignoring the fact that theyā€™ve sunk hundreds of hours into the game and of course are going to be able to fly through the game quickly and efficiently as opposed to regular users that may not play the game 8 hours a day.

The developers then listen to those players, and begin to ramp up the difficulty in order to try to keep those players playing the game. Unfortunately, those players still end up quitting the game at some point, and the incredible difficulty barrier thatā€™s now been created because of what amounts to an ā€œarms raceā€ dissuades new players from playing the game because they immediately get stomped and destroyed by the game. Additionally, the ramp-up and difficulty is often used in order to keep players, or at least to attempt to keep players, playing the game between DLC releases. This has been the case for the hunter classic, the hunter Call of the Wild, and now generation zero.

They also bring people onto the beta teams who have a lot of experience with the game, which isnā€™t a bad thing, except those people tend to be looking at the game in terms of how can they make it more difficult in order to keep players like them engaged, rather than how to keep all players engaged, even the ones that are not experts at the game.

Their games are artistically stunning - some of the best in the industry - but they tend to fall short in the game play department once the pre-release beta ends and the game hits the road.

Hopefully they can dial it back a bit and stop focusing on the hardcore players, but based on track history, Iā€™m somewhat concerned.

Just got done playing for a couple hours went out collecting collectibles died since update over a hundred and twenty times burnt through 1000 50 cal rounds over 14000 7.62 over 7000 556 and a little over 11000 9mmsmg over a hundred and forty simple Med kits at least around 60 standard Med kits in about 80 Advanced Health kits and only about 15 paramedic about 20 adrenaline shots and that was running away half the time. And that was on the easiest setting.

Getting to the point where you have to lure enemies back to a Safe House shoot until your killed respawn keep shooting to you run out of ammo with that type weapon switch to a different weapon with different ammo kill all the mobs. then go running around looting containers cars and houses until you think you have sufficient enough ammo to try something again then rinse and repeat.

I used to like playing with my brother and my son on skirmish yes we kill a lot of robots but we eventually start running out of the ammo and health kits and have to stop avoid combat go looting maybe pick it back up the next day.

Liking the fact that Harvesters get back up not liking the fact they spawned so fast like the fact that Hunters and runners chase you into a barn not so much when theyā€™re appearing in houses that you ran into like you go upstairs thereā€™s one at the base of the stairs two in the living room across the foyer and all the doors were shut.

Iā€™m honestly starting to believe that what weā€™re seeing is unintended consequences of something in the update. I canā€™t believe the devs would make things THIS out of whack on purpose.

Yeah, and you canā€™t even use stealth to avoid combat either, because no matter how quiet you are, or how much you go out of your way to avoid being seen, they still seem to see you, and then the deluge of reinforcements show up. Itā€™s like some sick parody of a heavy-handed police response to a shoplifter, lol

Using a field radio as a backup for respawning just in case you get killed bad idea after update stick with a safehouse location unless you made sure you put the field radio in a place that is perfectly sheltered no more open field or Hillside responds if you had agro on you when you died when you load back in and then teleport to your field radio theyā€™re on you before you even load in. They keep aggro even after you get experience points from leaving the encounter. Donā€™t know for how long but long enough for you to respon at a safe house and then teleport back.

Well at least the hunter bodies are there for you to loot. I could buy the increased difficulty if we could at least loot the corpses when we defeated them.
When we finally kill the enemies, the hunter corpses float away to the heavens. close too 95 % of all hunters are lifted away for the person running as host when we play. So one of us is quickly running out of ammo.

I really hope the devs are paying attention.

I think a part of the issue with stealth, like all skills in this game; they are very skill build dependent. If you stealth without a stealthy build you might as well go in guns blazing. I think the percentages are too low or not registering correctly in game. DEVS! Lots of bots=lower health slightly lower firepower ooooorrrr fewer bots=extremely high health and high fire power. I trust this is a trial I really missed playing today. Hope to hear from you soon devs. Also, being brutally honest here, you guys really should post something soon. You have allot of dedicated players that have invested allot of time in this amazing game. This is not about trying to keep any one itā€™s about keeping things out front. I just purchased alpine unrest and havenā€™t touched it. (It could feel like) ā€œthanks for buying nothingā€. I do not care about the bot issues as much as I care about money Iā€™ve spent that isnā€™t there. I believe on behalf of the whole gen z community someone should address the community with a little more than ā€œwe know itā€™s an issueā€. (If someone has please direct me there).

Ya the game now iS unplayableā€¦there are more Enemy then trees

Ok so on further playing I found that (idk if it was supposed to do this). An FNIX harvester, dropped 6 Hunters! Which absolutely obliterated me as soon as they spawned. The spawns really need to be tuned down.

Or at least limit it to 1 drop, not zerg dropping them every time you take out a pack.

Itā€™s worse w/ the military grade harvs. The entire area is covered in a permanent gas field by 5-6 hunters, plus 50 cal hunters turning you into paste.

Oh, I shouldā€™ve pointed out. Only the ones with sniper rifles drop .50 ammo.

Such a beautiful game that starts off brilliantly and then going into the main island just utter trash. Four harvesters and a tank in every location.

They can spot you from a hundred yards out and then shoot laser missiles that teleport to your location and kill you.

Why do there have to be so many of these useless robots? They arenā€™t scary when they are over every hilltop and in every farm and are not fun to fight. Especially when you use all your resources and get nothing back. Constantly hearing their thuds as they walk is so irksome because it is constant becauseā€¦ they are everywhere.

I decided to quit after being spotted by one harvester a hundred yards away and then another one down the road also a hundred yards away. I ran to a house and was assaulted by an endless amount of hunters. Take one down and three more appear. And it was nice when they started spawning inside. Nice touch.

This game had so much potential and is just utter trash now. Impossible to play and enjoy on scavenger difficulty. Unbelievable.

Whatā€™s the point of fighting them? They take all of tour ammo and health and give back so little and the respawn after a few hours.

Change the difficulty. Have easy and scavenger difficulties have just a few of the harvesters and tanks and more hunters.

You all created a great and beautiful game and ruined it. I would never recommend this to anyone and would steer people away from it if they were interested.

Yeah, to make it short that was abit too much, at least for my own taste, I died more often yesterday - mostly because of near endless hunter attacks with gas and secondmost because of railgun shots coming trough wallsā€¦ - than i did in the last two or three monthsā€¦

Some thoughts:

  • the changes in AI are somewhat welcome, but either the attack frequency has to be toned down, or bullet and gas resistance have to be raised

  • Harvesters spawning in Hunters is a fairly good idea but not with the (at least it feels like thatā€¦) frequency of spawning Ticks

  • endless rocket attacks are not really welcome and you nearly have no chance to avoid the explosions forvever. E.g. I had a fight with a Harvester + escort from a church tower and I was spammed to death with rockets. Whenever he paused I took the opportunity to try to shoot out of the window but the rocket fire started immediately when I pulled the trigger. It took ages to take out the rocket launchers and the Hunter gas attacks didnā€™t help eitherā€¦

  • Iā€™m having a hard time finding enough medkits nowadays but no problems in finding fabricsā€¦ Maybe it would be a good idea to have a crafting recipe to craft simple medkits on your own

All in all there has to be much finetuning on various parameters from attack strength and frequency up to player resistance against bullets, explosions and gas. Especially gasā€¦
