Recon Update Issues Feedback Thread

Played on my own map last few days with no one crashing that I know of. BUT, we take out FNIX bases as soon as they are taken over. So there are no fnix bases, just control points. And can still hear the little clicking noises when you get closer and no tick swarms.

Well ā€¦ dang.
Whilst I have not seen th infinite tick issue and I could try to clear a FNIX base, a possibly new issue has arose (possible as it might have been before this update but as I couldnt get near to a base without the game crashing, no on will ever know).

Tonight whislt trying to take out the Gulgangen control point only one of teh four generator were openable and so destroyable. All teh other three said the ā€˜hold e to openā€™ but it simply reset instead of opening the generators.

Platform: Steam PC

Description: Unopenable generators in control point

Steps To Reproduce: Fast travelled close, rocketed the walls to heck, survived the drones/dogs/hunters, opened and destroyed one (A), rest unopenable

My friend and me also had situations, where we were able to destroy everything but the command center, because the shield didnā€™t deactivate.
After fast traveling somewhere else the base immediatly leveled up and everything got reset and even stronger than before.

There are just too many situations where some mechanics stop working: Looting, destroying, interactions, effects, spawn-behaviours,ā€¦ Just to mention some.

And that just happens since we have all these control points and fnix-bases. And most of them are followed by a crash of the game.

Well I mostly play solo Iā€™ve completed one really long session since update no issues, maybe itā€™s stable solo .

The last control point I took in the south coast hardly put up a fight, 3- 4 machines max, it would appear to be inconsistent

Iā€™ve not had this issue playing solo on series X too, this is very strange how itā€™s not hitting everybody, maybe Iā€™ve been lucky so far :v:

Today itā€™s working okay for me.
On thursday I was just able to destroy one fnix base of 11. At the next one the game crashed (BroƤngen).

Today I already destroyed 3 more ones. I had one crash on approaching the one in the lower west side of farmlands, but continued after that.
The last one until now was BroƤngen. There were at least two hunters that spawned infinite ticks which caused some lags, but I finally had success.

Just 7 to go.

Edit: did another one, 6 left. Itā€™s getting smoother.

There is a bug in the ringfort so everything I press continue on the main menu and load in to the game it crashs instantly making it impossible to go any where near the ringfort and I would loses all my progression the only way to play the game is to make a new character

**** ps4

Description: tried to start the fynx rising mission where you talk to the old man and begin to protect the armored truck as it makes its way to the cannon. Get through the first sentence of dialogue and then the game blue screens and kicks me out. Upon re-entering, data gets corrupted. I can recover my data every time it corupts so far. Playing on a different character dosnt stop the crashing.

Steps To Reproduce: start the fynx rising mission where you escort the truck. After talking to start the quest, the game will crash. Reloading will have the game continue to crash making it impossible to play.

That happened to me aswell every time I load in it crashs

And I do play with two other friends but it happened on one of the maps aswell and it is unplayable

No its not.

It either crashes in 5 minutes or less, or I cant select shitā€¦no weapons wheel, no menu, no nothing. I cant even exit the game properly. I have to force close it from the XBox Dashboard. And this is on a Series X that runs everything else just fine.

Did they even test this at all, or just shoot it out the door & cross their fingers?

I cant play the game at all at this point. Its totally screwed.

Given the issues with the control points why the hell would they add more of them into the game when they already know ITS BROKE! What moron made that decision?

No it isnā€™t stable solo. I also play on Xbox series X and crash once or twice a day recently as opposed to about 10 times a month ago.
I think this is because over time I have become used to where and when it will crash and just avoid those places thus giving this false impression that the game is more stable. It isnā€™t.

I play on ps4 like shadow2974 so I can take video for instant crash for in 2 hours

Another Bug at Tƶrsberga Fort. The PC crashes and this happened two times with the same situation so i think it is a bug

Platform PC / Steam

Description: When you roam the Tƶrsberga Fort you will hear after a while battle noises. The Robots
in the vicinity of the High Security Prison south from the Tƶrsberga Fort start to attac a
Harvester that spawns loads of ticks. After a while the PC crashes.

Steps to Reproduce: Go to the Tƶrsberga Fort and roam there. After a while you will hear battle
sounds. The Robots fight a Harvester that spawns loads of Ticks.

I am on PC/Steam.

I have been having an annoying issue with weapon wheel dropping the assigned item like I ran out of that item, but I still have them. When I start my game I check my wheel assignments, all is good. But once in a battle and go to change to something, it may or may not be assigned still.

I do not seem to be having any issues with crashes. But there are random noises when get close to control points when they are taken over by FNIX. I go straight to them and destroy them before they get bigger.

Just tried again to attack a FNIX base, since I read someone else had been able to slowly pick away and them and each one destroyed seems to make things go a little more smoothly.

Exp GRG, just blew up some walls and other misc stuff to soften it up a bit. Then after about the third volley, there was a rocket-Runner near an exterior wall, so I fired a volley towards that andā€¦ nothing. It was as if the grenade rounds just went right through the wall, ground, everything and just disappeared. I tried again, nothing - probably fired 6-8 rounds and they just werenā€™t hitting anything, not exploding.

So I switched to regular old grenades. I threw one among a group of enemies that included a Hunter, a couple of Runners, a few Ticksā€¦ the grenade didnā€™t go off. Same thing, just as if it had vanished. I threw a few more, same thing. I was completely unable to get a regular thrown grenade to explode.

So I went in and started laying waste with the Exp Kpist, I was unloading on a Hunterā€™s tick pod, and just as I expected the Hunter would dieā€¦ the game crashed. So much for that idea.

EDIT: I would like to add that I have a grand total of ZERO mods installed for this game, and I never have. I never even knew about mods until recently, and I figure if the game is unstable already, no point throwing in extra stuff to potentially make it worse. So for anyone who is wondering, it isnā€™t just mods on PC that cause problems. This crashing is in the base game.

Iā€™ll pop in here now and then and try to keep an eye on updates, butā€¦ whatā€™s the point of playing a game that I canā€™t actually play? If it gets fixed soon, I may play it again. If it takes months for them to fix it, then I may have already moved on to something else, never to return. :frowning:

Good gaming!

I went the opposite way, totally up stream. From 0 to 9 FNIX bases. All went back to normalā€¦ Ticks spawning from almost every machine able to deploy Ticks, unlootable objects, flickering backpacks, etc.

As mentioned in the patch notes the movement keys have changed, this is great I wanted them to be the same keys as my default movement keys so thatā€™s a plus, thanks for this fix.

The problem is the ā€œDismount Keyā€ wonā€™t work, I have it mapped to Backspace and it just wonā€™t dismount, I checked and it works perfectly fine everywhere else, text, browsers, etcā€¦ just wonā€™t dismount the rider, the only way to get off the bike is to crash it into something, or fast travel. Also, I canā€™t remap the dismount key binding to any other key, itā€™s stuck on the first entry change in key bindings. I tried a full restart of the game and restarted my operating system, but nothing works, please fix this, I love my bike rides :-).

I am a Windows 11 player and have a Steam account.

I have (or had at one time) entire areas of the map I couldnā€™t go into. The Farmlands, The Forrest - couldnā€™t go in them without the game glitching out, So I hung out in the Marshlands, at least I could play a little there. Now with the Recon update I cant play at all. The game was free to play on XBox when I tried it & loved it. Bought the game & all the DLC/packs for it because I wanted to support the Developers. Really bad decision on my part. New Dawn dropped. game turned to trash barely playable, the Recon Update totally broke it. Money spent for a game I cant even play.

My Series X runs everything smoothly but this.
