I keep crashing after the new update, I’m on Xbox Series X, most of the time it happens when I’m fighting more than 1 tank, harvester and other big robots.
This need to be fixed please.

Update:now I’m just crashing when fighting fnix bases
I played yesterday with a friend for about 3 hours without any issues.
BUT, he just had two fnix bases on his map, plus one in the southcoast which raised while we were looking for the control points there.
It was really fun again.
One important fact for all:
There are four new control points in the southcoast, but this time we are able to capture all of them! so we can prevent to get even more fnix bases.
Maybe that’s the devs tactic to reduce the total amount of fnix bases for future.
Since the update on Xbox series x
If I try to take control of a base the game crashes (happened 6 times with 20 minutes)
Sometimes if you get to a generator when I press x to open it, the bar just continually scrolls ?
If I drop multiple items on the floor, say out of the 20 items it will only let me pickup 10, then the rucksack is visible, but it won’t let me search it again
My son logged into his account, and his map has now merged with mine, so he now has all the locations and safe houses opened and a reaper but only just reached the airfield last week (as only just started playing)
Hoping all these bugs can be fixed as the game is unplayable for me now
Yeah, maybe…
But…
What about those of us who are not really interested in FNIX CPs and their map is now cluttered with dozens of CPs making the game nearly unplayable ?
I, for my part, simply can’t get rid of them any more because either the game crashes prematurely or I get the bug that I can’t open the shield generators and so not being able to destroy the base.
So for me the train has already left the station and I’m not able to catch up any more until the issues are fixed or better the whole CP system get’s an overhaul and a full reset on the bases to get rid of them.
Yeah I know, what about all those who have claimed most or all of the bases… Well… honestly I don’t know but maybe there’s a way for the Devs to re-provide the points and materials to those players.
My 2 Ct.
I know, what you mean.
At some point it’s almost impossible to get the game back to stable state.
I was lucky and able to reduce the fnix bases from 11 to 6 until now. It’s getter smoother amd smoother.
I we would be able to destroy all bases and to capture all control points, we could prevent the game to spawn more fnix bases… Maybe that’s why the devs decided to make us able to capture 4 of 4 in south coast.
But at least I stay at my opinion that 1 control point per region is enough. The casual gz-player would never build so many bases.
I just use the bases as fast-travel points, because my safehouses get lost every week again, no matter how much I recapture.
There might be a way. If the devs made it an optional choice to reset all FNIX bases to unclaimed control points, whereby when you choose to reset, no spend points would be given back.
And If like madchaser said all bases can be claimed by the players that would solve the problem. But People would still need to claim the bases and build walls, be cause I have seen that sometimes if you are near a base and not in defend mode, normal machines who try to shoot you, can damage the base.
Sounds really good.
Like the skill recap there could be an option to reset all fnix bases (and just the fnix controlled bases!) for a price of maybe 5 uranium, too. (maybe more, maybe command tokens instead, idk what would be best)
People who don’t want the bases at all, they most likely also don’t like farming Tokens, so Uranium would be better, I think.
Or maybe the reset should be free, and just be there as a failsafe.
Remove all but the original home base control point and put new ones in unique spots or with varied mechanics, with no more than 1 per region. Preferably as far away from towns / points of interest as possible.
Adding an option to reset is a great idea. Adding an option to turn them off entirely would be even better, especially they can cause performance issues even when working as intended, even if only in multiplayer.
(We can turn vehicles on/off in multiplayer, why not control points?)
I’m just afraid that such a switch could bring more issues.
Imagine you built a whole bunch of bases and turn off the switch to play with some friends.
Later, you turn it on again for solo play, but suddenly your built bases are gone, just the command center is left, or even every control point becomes empty.
The vehicles (bicycles) just aren’t connected to anything else. That’s the difference.
But I once more agree that there just should be one control point per region.
I can just imagine that. But they wouldn’t need to remove the building models, just keep whatever you built or whatever the FNIX base looked like. Just make them inactive / inert. We can make bases immune from interference in multiplayer, it’s not too far removed from that.
An other bug, unable to exit the bicycle once you get on it you are stuck. Changing the settings for dismounting the bike is impossible too in key settings in the menu. So no bike for me for now on…
Did you try the interaction key?
Btw, did anyone (even the patch notes) mention that the dpad left and right buttons now are bound to cycle through the weapon-wheel slots?
What do you think about it?
Probably it’s a good new option for some to switch items, but I personally wasn’t in need of a third and forth option to select an item
(for Playstation:
Ok, it’s better than having the buttons unbound, but I’d have loved to be able to select binoculars and maybe field radios or gas masks as special bindings (like flashlights) with dpad.
Had a sort of similar issue on ps4. Got to the first of 3 pickups for ringfort, and on the way to the second I got the randomly in combat bug and died. On my way back I crashed. When i loaded again, even though I didnt make it to number 2 it said I had 2/3 and no icon on the map. I gave up and quit for a while, and when I loaded again it was working.
[PS4]Crashing a lot but its not ticks. Happens when I open my storage after playing a while. Crashes when I close it. Also an issue where holding square to open storage auto unequips/stores your attachments, ammo, and consumables.
Maybe it was registered like button-press after the plundra opened?
→ If you press square while in the plundra everything from the selected category will be dropped into it.
Please devs, read this and do it!
I have never bothered with the FNIX bases before because I found the whole concepts wack.
The last few days in an effort to make my game a bit more stable I have attacked bases to remove them and god f-ing dammit it is such a chore. No fun at all.
AND REPEAT over and over and over!
This feels so totally out of touch with the rest of the game.
Why did FNIX decide to build these collections of walls?
What are FNIX using these collections of walls for?
If the devs started removing every thing some group of players didn’t want, what be left of the game? Nothing!
Ideas
To fix for the people who are stuck because too many bases active; a FNIX base reset option (activate on base icon menu on the map), back to unclaimed control point, would probably make the game playable for those that were affected. People can reset any FNIX base they want.
Then they also could limit the number of bases that can be active at one time, to one or two per region. And if players ignore these active bases it should not effect the game. That way the bases can stay for the ones that like a base defend or assault once in a while, and can be ignored by the ones that don’t like them.
And Devs still keep looking for the deeper underlying reason why they game is getting so unstable for some people, and not for others.
It should have been a PAID DLC. All the base building so those that want a base building game can buy it and install it. Those that do not want a base building game but keep Gen Zero clear of them can NOT pay for them. And then they can also be uninstalled after finding out they crash the game.
When in a region with control points, you can’t be in the region for to long before a FNIX base pops up. I am trying to get my South coast region back to 21 after I had a reaper, a new rival and a FNIX base all pop up within a 2 hour game play window.
Had to first take out the base, region drop a level, took out the new rival, dropped a few levels, took out the reaper, dropped a few more levels and can’t seem to find enough machines to get the level from 18. When I get to level 19 a finx base pops in and I Destroy it. Level drops back down to 18.
So now I can’t play in the south coast, Farmlands or the Forest regions without the levels dropping below 21 due to FNIX bases I DO NOT want in my game. I want to hunter reapers and machines to spawn reapers. It is only thing left when no more story to explore.
You cannot build the region level up in those 3 regions without leaving the FNIX bases along, leave them alone they get stronger till the game crashes, take them out and the region level drops faster than you can find machines to bring it back up before another base forms. Players are FORCED to fight the FNIX bases so the game has been turning into a base building/defense game. No more exploring, no more hunting and farming machines, just go to each base as it forms. Game should not be considered a open world game any more because you HAVE to go to the FNIX bases or risk game crashing to the point of becoming unplayable.
No, they are just randomly generated.
Btw you can prevent spawning more and more runners, hunters, seekers by destroying the spawn generators.
But I agree in general with your post.
The last days I moved to fnix bases, if possible without crash, spammed missiles onto them to be able to reach the shield generators, destroyed some missile runners for looting their missiles, destroyed the shield generators and then the command center.
No more tactics, no more fun, just bumm
