I restarted the game second time through and saw no beacons; even when you are alerted that there is a beacon—they are no where to be found—and no they don’t show up on the map.
I’m having the same issue, actually. Places meant to have beacons, do not. l’ll move this to Bug Reports
Same here I have run into this issue twice now on Xbox. Was not sure enough that it was a “thing” to post so glad you did…Thanks.

Platform: PC
Description: In basically every spot where relay beacon is located we have a floating orange light. Best visible from some distance (more than 50m).
Steps To Reproduce: Check known beacons locations.
Host or Client: Host/Client
Players in your game: 1-4
Specifications: i5 4670K, 16G RAM, GTX 1070
I see those often. I believe they get left by enemies rendering out in odd circumstances.
No, not from enemies but a relict of that blinking/flashing orange light in the middle of the satellite dish.
When you destroy an antenna the dish flies off but the light-“source” seems to be left behind and that seems to last forever. When you return to the site of a destroyed Antenna all remains are gone, except for that light source. It’s a bug in my eyes but not that severe, except if this happens before you can destroy an antenna or if the antenna doesn’t even render.
P.S.: but @pegnose is right, enemies do also leave relicts of their attention lights behind, especially tanks
Those are definitely Relay Beacon lights. They’re right at the locations where they should spawn. I’ve had this issue for a long time now, beacons just won’t spawn, regardless if I delete my profile and start over. Instead I get these lights.
The other day I joined a multiplayer game, and later when I started up a solo session I found a beacon again.
It seems they began to spawn into the world again. But then the game crashed, and I was back to the floating orange lights
Nope. It’s not “the” light from the dish itself.
I originally posted one of these in the floating objects topic with the suspicion it was a remnant of the beacon (dish) light. I investigated it a little more later (with the help of old save files) and indeed found them at all the beacon locations. In some instances the light was misaligned and that revealed that it was actually a stationary light.
Here is an older screenshot where you can see that dimmer floating light just to the top left of the crosshair and well below the dish light:
That only makes the issue stranger
Indeed. Its purpose remains a mystery.
It may be just some flare light to draw attention (since it becomes more visible the farther away you are) which the engine “forgot” to remove.
But it may also be an intentional beacon location marker for the engine so it knows where to respawn them, or something.
Or both. Any guess is as good as mine.
I posted something about this “investigation” (including the above picture) earlier in this Community Content - Relay Beacon Map topic, by the way. To bad that topic seems to be abandoned. It’s actually a nice idea.
Hm, an internal marker would not need to be visible to us. It would just be coordinates in a table.
The first idea seems to make more sense. The light in the model does not allow for far visibility, for whatever reason. Therefor a floating light has been added as a quick fix for certain viewing conditions.
I agree. And it may be intentionally persistent too.
But never say something would not be needed. I vaguely remember some Engine scripting trickery which used unconventional objects (with all it’s restrictive properties) to achieve something completely unrelated to the object itself.
Or maybe it’s just a secret “contest” at Avalanche for which the discoverer wins a
Dalahäster!
Awww, I WANT one!
I think you guys noticed that when you move far enough from a police car, that has it’s flashing blue lights on they change to a static blue blob of light. Maybe it’s the same, but for the beacons.
Maybe it’s even the same for police cars, but we can’t see it because of the bright flashing lights?
So you mean when an object with lights renders out, its lights stay in the last state. That was my first suggestion on this.
I don’t think it’s the same issue. At the distance the lights turn to blobs you wouldn’t be able to see machines.
Its best seen near Järvhålan safehouse - just north of that you have a police car and lots of empty space to move away and still se it.
I don’t understand this sentence.
At some distance flashing police lights stop flashing and we see only static blue blob of light.
I think that this is the same distance that machines are visible (so closer they are - you see them, further they are - you can’t see them).
