Tick-sized... Gnomes?

Ahhhhhh, Aahhhhh, Aaaahhhhh, get them away from me!! They scared the shit out of me when I first encountered them in the middle of the night.

When hunting gnomes remember; Physics is not necessarily your friend (or consistent).

Indeed! Last night dead gnome-ticks started flying around after a bunch of looting, and game crashed… (Again) No matter, I love the chaos of these collectibles! I now have 5/7 masks! Host for that match had a (seemingly) rare gold and silver mask, while I have ‘Undead’ and ‘Machine’ masks.

As far as I can tell from my own drop-rate, of the 7 masks; red, green, blue and yellow are common, with machine, undead, and gold being rare.

Having said that, I’ve played with people who each got gold / machine / undead as their first mask.

How do you know if you’ve collected all the gnomes? Is there a list somewhere?

Anyone got a confirmed list from this event?

I’ve 8 listed and just wanted to check -> for reference

Green
Blue
Machine
Undead
Yellow
Gnome Mask Red ( first one available )
Silver / Chrome
Gold

  • Confirmed Silver & Gold is 1 mask - totalling 7.

Thanks Obi.

*as in these masks.

Same discussion topics merged.

Also, do note that there haven’t been any events about gnome ticks. Gnome ticks appeared in the game after January '20 patch and were errenousely left in the game from the development build. Hence why they are bugged and not reliably findable.

Ah, no “event” as such.

With regards to the Gnome masks then, has there ever been an actual release of what was obtainable?

No. Also, devs doesn’t even acknowledge the existence of gnome ticks.

Though, my best guess is that gnome ticks do get removed at some point, to finalize them and there could be future, official event about them, reintroducing them for the event period (e.g like Semla was).

I picked up a Selma 2 days ago, but that would 100% explain why the guy in the discords post about them got completely wiped.

Well, for reference the 8 I listed I know are 100% obtainable. I will add as time progresses.

Again, thank you for the direct clarity.

Hi Alias,

I’ve only ever seen evidence of 7 masks not 8. The 7 I have are;

Gnome mask (Red)

Blue

Green

Yellow

Undead

Machine

Gold/Silver

If anyone has found one not listed here, please let me know!

Usually in or near a house with a gnome there’ll be a Semla or two lying around. Sometimes you can find the Semla in a house next to the one with a Gnome.

Good luck with the hunt!

Thanks @OBiW4NSHiNOBi

For clarity, you must be online with multiplayer access in order to generate Gnomes.

They cannot be generated in solo play

They cannot be generated offline

They do spawn in single player - invite only game as well. I saw them 2 or 3 times.

They definitely can be spawned in single player on invite only, I’ve seen them myself. But if you value your sanity I really don’t recommend going solo if you’re specifically looking to spawn them.

As tricky as it is in co-op, trust me… it’s far far easier to intentionally spawn them in multiplayer that it is on your own.

Thank you for the clarity ObiWan,

I’ll be sure to pick your brains should anything else crop up

I’ve been Gnome hunting for what feels like forever!! If anyone is on PS4 doing this on a regular basis please let me know!! It’s getting frustrating I can’t get them to spaw anywhere! :weary:

It’s been a very tough few days working on a formula, and the reality of what we are doing has hit us all in game not too long ago. We’ve all come a lot further in getting them to generate, my game earlier had over 5 Gnomes in 3 houses, all dropping consistent loot.

Problem is, now it’s not more of an effort than when I originally started - and only leaving the Black & Yellow and the illusive Silver & Gold is it worth it? I’ve looked at the drop rates against their claimed % and it’s a tough gig for me at 5, let alone those at 6 praying for that missing mask.

The Gnome tick themselves get stuck in houses, doorways, under floorboards, implode on themselves, and has cause what I call the Gnome punch that can best be seen here ->

It’s very frustrating, and understand why many don’t bother because the setup for this is ridiculous.
So, in summary - IF you are going to go for the Gnome Masks, it is very much a grind and you will need 4, minimum 3 with everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.

Good luck all.
