The Final Showdown Update (12th dec) - rumours and discussion (wiki)

Yes, that’s literally what I did, but with the rocket launcher (from the cliff top overlooking te base). I get swarmed by runners and hunters faster than I can destroy their generators, they move faster than I can settle the reticule on them, and after I brute-force my way through it, the base doesn’t drop the shield, and begins regenerating itself, so I get mobbed by hunters and runners again.

This has happened more than once.

It just does regenerate, if you start the mission and then abort it… Travel away or just get out of the mission area until the countdown runs out.

Regarding your lags:
I don’t know if you already wrote it, but what’s your system?
And did you try other bases?

So, the stanchions that spawn the machines in the base were destroyed by you, but then recreated themselves and began spawning machines again?? Yeah, that’s a horrible bug. The only thing I can say is- if you bug is ever fixed, get on ground high enough above the camp so that the machines can’t reach you, period. The ridges above and slightly east of Stentorpet and the the opposite end of the bridge ay Ravinen are great spots for starters. Goid luck, my friend on getting rid of that lag.

Series X.

Three base attacks in a row, the first didn’t drop the shield & didn’t spawn the hatch, the second did drop the shield, but didn’t spawn a place to plug in the network component in the basement. The third didn’t drop the shield.

Every group of machines causes the same sort of lag, even encountering 4 runners in the forest becomes single-digit frame rates.

Puh.
Idk if THAT is the usual case for xbox now, but I would try to clear the consoles cache. Maybe reinstall the game, too.

It could also help to use a LAN connection (wired) to your router instead of wifi.

But besides of that, no idea why it’s that bad for you.

It’s those anglepoise lamp robots with the purple or red lights which call down the crate drop robots. My tactic on hitting a base is to take out the turrets with AP sniper rifle, then plough through the walls with rockets, and destroy the robot generators, then clean up all the shield genertors once the robots are all cleared or confined to closed sections of wall.

But in this case, I’d cleared everything out, the shield hadn’t left the hatch, and then I heard crates dropping in, and saw the purple light of a Hunter maker where I’d destroyed it previously.

Already doing. :person_shrugging:

Has anyone found all the vhs tapes yet? Seven of them have already been found but the last two don’t seem to be marked as collectibles on the map.

Based on the locations of the others the most logical places to look are in/near settlements and churches where younger people gather like the party barn in Haga or Alby church where all those bikes are.

I too have seven, but I can’t find a location on the map that says there is a collectable to find. Without an approximate area to search in it’s not something that will be easy to find. So I think it up to the community to make a note of any Vhs tape they just find when roaming around in the world, and share it. Eventually all locations will be found.

Carni, I just finished the showdown update. Many thanks for producing it. I don’t mind grind, although I think you did overdo that some for the base game. So, in a nutshell, you could have done better- but you could have done far worse- or nothing at all. So, thanks.

That said I have a question. Although I assume that I can get the new experimentals via rival drops, I have no idea how to go about getting the drill or the chemical lab. Care to elaborate?

Yesterday i had already put that “bug” in the list topic you createad.
Feel free to make it a single bug Report.

The new sctrutures appear in the base build menu.
HOWEVER, you have to see on the map for each location what TYPE of NEW Resource structure you can get.
You cant choose what you want.
Each place has a fixed type of extractor, Drill, Chemical lab or Furnace.

I know, i dont like it too…

Thank you, Mr_A1992. No, it’s all good. I’m not concerned regarding the base limitations on those items. I assume based on the blurb however, that only the furnace has to be used in base defense- which IS a true grade- school concept that has no realistic place in this game- but you take the good and the bad alike and make the best of things. Again, thanks.

Just one thing.
The 3 new structures only work “during base defense”, not only the furnace.

@zesiir Could you put the last comments of me and sgt saunders in the general discussion "The final showdown update 12th dec rumours etc ?
Seems a better place there.

Spoilers ahead for anyone that’s trying to find the tapes blindly.

One of the tapes is near Boo church. To the left of the front entrance near a yellow store is a truck. In the back of that truck is one of the tapes.

You can find a second tape in the top room of a red house in Salthamn, the house is next to a house with a destroyed robot in the yard.

A third tape can be found in the gift shop at Annagruvan.

A fourth tape can be found in Lilla in the house at 465.332, 691.870.

A fifth tape can be found in Markbacken on top of a store at 1021.332, 6.797.

A sixth tape can be found in Haga in a barn with a bar and stage in it near 973.776, 227.870.

A seventh tape can be found in Alby church near the church pew.

I have looked at every single location in my game and they have no collectibles left so I don’t know where the last two might be but they don’t seem to be mentioned on the map.

Well Hagaboda, and all other towns with many houses are all good candidates, as are all shops, all churches, all places that have a game-set / joystick controller as an asset. Like I said, it’s is not going to be easy. Basically the whole of Östertörn.

Btw
You know the Carni-Easter-Egg?

It’s one of the tapes. J-Schwiss. With a dinosaur sketch on top. If not that, what else?

Agreed, the new update is not fun and is just a stressful chore to play. They ruined the crafting and doing the base assault missions is a chaotic resource wasting labor intensive bore.
