It’s no secret. Sometimes loot boxes spawn inside other stuff.
Iirc, some loot boxes can respawn in different places, or put differently: the loot box layout for a location can change. For me, this weapon crate was always in this location. Are weapon crates static for all players?
In your game they are always in the same place. If someone joins your game they see boxes in the same places you do.
If you join someone else’s game you will see boxes placed differently from your perspective.
You mean all boxes? That might be the case (client sessions).
I realise it’s a bug, but I don’t really mind it. Feels like you have to rifle through those shelves to find stuff. I suppose it’s worthy of a post in Floating Objects though, if anyone’s willing

So listing them each individually would help the devs? I’d figure these issues will be dealt with on a more general level.
Fwiw, I had just created a thread for unlootable boxes. I could expand it to weird boxes. I have screenshots of all of those I encountered so far.
PS: As I really like this hidden stash, I did not post it as a bug. I had hoped this was intentionally, though.

I had that today in a safe-house warehouse, all doors closed except the one I was shooting out of - two of them got inside behind me! Dead, me - never saw them…
As for the barns upstairs - always put a mine at the top of the stairs, that way you at least get some warning…

That is soo awesome, how many people actually called that number before they had that reaction!
My biggest scare was when I was at like 3 health and 8 dogs and 2 hunters ran past me. So I decided the only reasonable thing to do was to blow myself up with 6 fuel tanks. I never went to go scavenge them in fear they were still there.

I will! Heh, heh, heh… It’s in one of the locked-up green buildings, which you have to unpick to get in. I think one of those is in every one, but I always forget to look. PS, you know that once you have unlocked one of those doors, it is always afterwards unlocked, do you? Just in passing…
True, it is always unlocked. And yes, it is one of those buildings. But this one hidden stash was the only one I found in those shacks so far.
